Harold E. Parcher

Harold E. Parcher, 77, of Sun City West, Ariz., and formerly of Whitehouse, died Monday at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West.
Born May 12, 1930, in Findlay, he was the son of the late Calvin and Laura (Wrasse) Parcher. On March 25, 1961, he married Patricia A. Powell, who survives.
He retired in 1990 as a budget coordinator from Toledo Edison, where he was employed for 35 years. He was a member of Community of Christ Lutheran Church in Whitehouse and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haskins. A United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War, he was also a life member of the V.F.W. in Whitehouse.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sharon (Steven) Hartshorn of Westerville; and a brother, Franklin (Faye) Parcher of Findlay.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Haskins, Rev. Richard Ferne officiating, and a luncheon will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Clymer Cemetery in Rawson.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Julia K. Reckner, 41, formerly of Delta, died Wednesday at Heartland of Waterville.
Born Feb. 13, 1966, in Wauseon, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Reckner and Martha (Haller) Reckner.
She is survived by a brother, Rick Reckner of Hanover, Ind.; and two step sisters, Kathy Baden of Clearwater, Fla., and Rosalie (Dean) Cook of New Port Richey, Fla.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnes Funeral Chapel, Delta.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Robert D. Miller

Robert D. Miller, 69, of Delta, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in his home.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a self-employed cabinet maker.
He was born in Toledo on July 31, 1938, the son of the late Charles and the late Gladys (White) Miller. On Oct. 24, 1956, he married Deanna Drake, and she survives.
Surviving besides his wife, Deanna, are three daughters, Jonnie Wagner of Liberty Center, Deanna Miller of Delta and Jenetta Miller of Maumee; four sons, Steve Miller of Liberty Center, Tim Miller of Toledo, David Miller of Waterville and Andrew Miller of Whitehouse; 35 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Miller of North Carolina; two half brothers, Ernie Miller of Columbus and Roger Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Miller of Swanton.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Grisier Funeral Home in Delta, with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Harlin Helmke, 65, of Defiance died Monday at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
Born April 25, 1942, in Defiance, he was the son of the late Richard and Martha (Mohring) Helmke. On June 26, 1964, he married Judith Dickerson, who survives.
He was an assistant operator/binder man at Johns-Manville in Defiance from 1965 to 2006. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Florida, the National Guard, Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post #300 of Napoleon and the Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union.
He is also survived by three daughters, Brenda (Gary) Scott and Susan Zartman, both of Defiance, and Pamela (Daniel) Volkman of Wauseon; two sisters, Mary Ann Ramey of Defiance and Barbara (Norbert) Norden of Hamler; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Viola Troeger; and an infant sister, Wanda Jane Helmke.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Pastor Douglas Corniels officiating. Interment will follow at Florida Cemetery, and a luncheon will follow the funeral service in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Fred E. Parker

Fred E. Parker, 79, of Napoleon died Monday at Country View Haven.
Born Dec. 19, 1928, in Napoleon, he was the son of Frederick E. and Josephine (Hall) Parker. In 1952, he married Deni Hefty, who survives.
An accountant, he worked in the payroll division for Wren Reese, Inc. in Napoleon for 24 years. He was a former assistant manager for G.C. Murphy’s in the early 1950s and also worked part-time for Safety, Grooving & Grinding in Napoleon for four years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. John Episcopal Church of Napoleon, where he was the former head of maintenance. He was also a member of several local bowling leagues, the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and the Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post #300 of Napoleon.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jane (Joe) Meyer of Napoleon; four sons, Tom (Jenny), Rick (Sherry), Rex (Deb) and Duff (Connie), all of Napoleon; a sister, Lettie Hale of Defiance; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James; and a sister, Patricia Speiser.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Episcopal Church, Pastor Collins Asonye officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon, with military honors accorded by the Napoleon Joint Veterans Posts.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Thomas E. Doughten

Thomas Edson Doughten, 68, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Arbors at Sylvania. He was born in Toledo on Sept. 22, 1939, to Gordon and Marie (Armbruster) Doughten.
Thomas was a graduate of Burnham High School, class of 1957. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in education at Bowling Green State University and then attended The University of Toledo, where he graduated with a masters of art in history. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Liberty Center School System from 1964-1993 where he taught history, economics, speech and genealogy. He was awarded two Fulbright Scholarships for study in India and Pakistan. Throughout his life, Thomas had a deep love, passion and expertise for the study of genealogy. He was a well-known member of several genealogical societies and was bestowed the Thomas S. Lamb Genealogy Teacher’s award by the Ohio Genealogy Society. His fraternal memberships included the Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary and the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Association. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sylvania.
He is survived by his brother, James (Norma) Doughten; fiancé Margaret E. Mattoon; nephew Stephen (Lisa) Doughten; nieces Tracey Doughten and Amy (Brian) Wachob; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, where scripture services will begin at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, immediately followed by a funeral mass beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Sylvania. Graveside prayers will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Shiffler’s Cemetery in Pulaski, Ohio.

William L. Rohdy

William L. Rohdy, 59, of Deshler died Friday at his residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1948, in Shunk, he was the son of Claude James and Donna (Davis) Rohdy. He was previously married to Connie Lorraine Adkins, and she survives in South Shore, Ky. On Sept. 13, 2002, he married Sue Ann Graham, who also survives.
He attended Northwest State Community College and formerly worked as a maintenance technician for Silgan Can Co. of Napoleon. He was a former member the Napoleon V.F.W. Post #8218 and the Grand Rapids Sportsmen Club. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles.
He is also survived by a son, Kenneth J. of Deshler; two daughters, Christa E. Rohdy of Napoleon and Rebecca L. Hernandez of Ingram, Texas; a brother, Richard “Dick” of the state of Florida; and three grandchilden.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Deshler United Methodist Church, Rev. Janet Lewis-Cattell officiating Interment will be private with military honors at a later date.
There will be no visitation.

Daniel E. Romes, 46, of Holgate died Friday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
Born Nov. 21, 1961, in Defiance, he was the son of Robert and Joyce (Hohenberger) Romes of Lady Lake, Fla.
An Army veteran, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Holgate. He worked as a fork lift operator for Campbell Soup Supply Co.
He is survived by two sons, Justin Brashear of Defiance and Shyne Smith of Swanton; a daughter, Cheyenne Smith of Swanton; two sisters, Paula (David A.) Romes-Gross of Manassas, Va., and Lisa Romes of Defiance; two brothers, Rod of Defiance and Todd of Napoleon; several grandchildren; and his significant other, Cynde Lozer of Holgate.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance.
Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45.

Petra “Betty” Salaz, 83, of Hamler died Saturday at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Born Dec. 4, 1924, in Waelder, Texas, she was the daughter of Donciano and Delores (Melchor) Carrizales. She married Pedro Salaz, who preceded her in death in 1956.
She retired in 1988 from Tem-Cole of McClure and previously worked at the former IMCO Poultry of Deshler. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Chapel of Hamler.
She is survived by two sons, Graviel of Hamler and Rafael (Kandace) of Defiance; three sisters, Angelita (Felipe) Alvarado and Delfina (Narcisco) Rodriquez, both of Hamler, and Mary Helen (Jesse) Rodriquez of Deshler; a brother, Manuel Carrizales of North Baltimore; and a grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Isabel and Marcio “Mack” Carrizales.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Chapel, Father Stephen Stanberry and Deacon James Schortgen officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Hamler, and a luncheon will follow in the chapel fellowship hall.

Judy Layne Meade, 65, of Defiance died Friday at the Toledo Hospital.
Born April 27, 1942, in Van Lear, Ky., she was the daughter of Kermit Keel and Lucy Vires. On Aug. 27, 1959, she married Eston Meade, who survives.
A homemaker, she was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She is also survived by two sons, Ron (Chris) of Defiance and Solomon of Paulding; a daughter, Rhonda Gerken of Defiance; two brothers, Herman Keel of Continental and Merman Keel of Defiance; a sister, Dorothy Slone of Van Lear; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman, Roger and Bobby Keel; and a grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Rev. Max Begley officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.

Mildred “Fern” Kieffer, 79, of McClure died Wednesday at Whitehouse Country Manor.
Born June 12, 1928, in Richfield Township, she was the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Orthwein) Richard. On July, 11, 1948, she married James R. Kieffer, who survives.
In 1948, she graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. After retirement, she graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Standish, Maine. She worked as a registered nurse for Henry County Hospital, retiring in 1993. She was a life member of Westhope Bible Church and member of the American Red Cross, Henry County Hospital Auxiliary, Trade A Plant Club, Henry County Historical Society and Richfield and Bethel Granges, as well as several other organizations.
She is also survived by two daughters, Joyce (Jerry) Erven and Nora Kieffer, both of McClure; two sons, Donald of Las Vegas and Robert (Jodi) of McClure; two brothers, Bert Richard of McClure and Joe Richard of Trenton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Rex, Paul and Jerry Richard.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Pastor James Erven and Pastor Bill Wicks officiating. Interment will follow at Milton Township Cemetery.

She is survived by a sister, Hermina Jaurequi of Houston, Texas.

Faye Inez Austermiller, 81, of Napoleon died Tuesday at The Toledo Hospital.
Born June 2, 1926, in Washington Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of William and Grace (Mohler) Leatherman. On June 16, 1946, she married Melvin E. Austermiller, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1994.
A homemaker, she worked at the DeVillbiss Co. of Toledo for a year and retired from IMCO Poultry after 13 years. She was a member of Peace Reformed Church of Napoleon and its Women’s Fellowship. She was also a former member of Malinta CCL, Grange and Farm Bureau Council.
She is survived by two sons, William (PJ) of Radcliff, Ky., and Joseph of Napoleon; a daughter, Jane Engel of Perrysburg; a brother, Earl Leatherman of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Alice Wheller of Romana, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David; a daughter, Jeanne Austermiller; five brothers, Dale, Lowell, Peter, Elmer and Vernam Leatherman; and a sister, Josephine Leatherman.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace Reformed Church, Rev. Ben Willford officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Holgate.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary of Napoleon.

Sumner H. Hawley, 93, formerly of Bay Village, Ohio, died Saturday, Jan. 12 in Tracy, Calif.
He married Blanche Van De Velde, who preceded him in death.
An alumnus of the Akron University School of Engineering, he attended Case Western Reserve University and was a member of the Cleveland Engineering Society. He was vice president and general manager of the Lewis Machine Co. in Cleveland
He is survived by two sons, Sumner H. Jr. of Pleasanton, Calif., and Kenneth Mason of Napoleon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, Ohio.

Born June 11, 1919, in Monroe Township, Hamler, she was the daughter of Albert H. and Caroline Louise (Schwiebert) Bremer. On March 5, 1936, she married William V. Richholt, who preceded her in death June 4, 1976. On Jan. 6, 1978, she married Rexford Rath, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1989.
A homemaker, she was a current member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Napoleon. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle, altar guild and choir.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Lawrence “Sonny”) Babcock of Napoleon; two step sons; a step daughter; three grandchildren; six step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lee Frederick; and a brother, Albert Reddersen.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Pastor James Castello officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church fellowship hall, and graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Born Dec. 3, 1933, in Toledo, he was the son of Wert and Delphine (Hinde) Fuller. He married Martha Kruse, who survives.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Sheridan Manufacturing in Wauseon for 26 years. Recently, he and his wife were known for selling vegetables around Wauseon.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sue (Michael) Pinson of Liberty Center; a step daughter, Marlene (Jim) Weber of Florida; four brothers, Clarence (Mary) and Russell, both of Toledo, Elmer (Elaine) of Temperance, Mich., and Joe (Donna) of Northwood; a sister, Jeanie Fuller of Temperance; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Wert Jr., Carl, Robert, Wynn, Frank and Richard; and a sister, June.
Services will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Father Robert Holden officiating.

Anna Lydia Crew died peacefully at The Lutheran Home at Napoleon on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2008, at the age of 83.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1924, in Napoleon, Ohio, to Harry and Lydia (Spoering) Loudon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gale Freeman Crew, in 1992.
She graduated in 1942 from the Napoleon High School and was employed by the Ohio Gas Co. in Napoleon for 35 years. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Holgate, Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Earl Crew of Savannah, Ga., and his wife, Katherine; a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Lane of Woodstock, Ga., and her husband, Rick; a grandson, Todd Allen Crew and his wife Rachel of Woodstock, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Jordan Alexandra Crew of Woodstock, Ga.; and two sisters, Virginia Patrick of Liberty Center, Ohio, and Norma Schnider of St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Loudon; and three sisters, Dorothy Flint, Marie Plassman and Ruth Switzer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Jane Hillman officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance County, Ohio.

Marilynn L. Seling, 76, of Defiance died Sunday at West View Manor, Inc. in Wooster.
Born May 19, 1931, in Muskegon, Mich., she was the daughter of Nandor G. Berg and Katherine Klevering. In 1956, she married Arnold F. Seling, who preceded her in death in 2004.
A homemaker, she was a member of BPOE #147 Ladies Auxiliary, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary and St. Paul Lutheran Church of Defiance. She was also a Welcome Wagon hostess for eight years.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Seling of Defiance; two sons, Fred (Rose) of Wooster and John (Juliet) of Westerville; a sister, Katherine Longworth of Lady Lakes, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. David Brobston officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Carol Y. Myers, 70, of Leipsic died Sunday at The Meadows of Leipsic.
Born June 29, 1937, in Greenfield, Mich., she was the daughter of Ralph E. and LaDonna E. (Diemer) Keeran. On Dec. 21, 1956, she married Walter F. Myers, who preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1995.
A homemaker, she also worked as a clerk at Scarbrough Pharmacy in Leipsic. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, also of Leipsic.
She is survived by three sons, Roger and Kevin (Diana), both of Findlay, and Terry (Linda) of Arlington; three daughters, Judy (Daniel) Ehrhart of Gonzales, La., and Vicki (Thomas) Spurgeon and Karen (Gerard) VanCalster, both of Deshler; two sisters, Mary Stretchbery of Weston and Kathy Rea of McComb; 14 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a step great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Pastor George Zornow officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler.

Alan L. Brown, 63, of Delta died Sunday at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Born Nov. 27, 1944, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of the late Earl and Phyllis (Tuckerman) Brown. In 1974, he married Bernice Pugh, and they later divorced.
He worked in the maintenance department at Tenneco Automotive of Napoleon for 27 years. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Sportsmen Club and Napoleon Moose Lodge #788 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by a daughter, Teri (Gilbert) Suarez of Fayette; and a grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, David; and three sisters, Donna Strobel, Earlene Oakes and Anita Kepner.
Services will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation.

Charles “Chuck” Robert Hollstein, 80, of Napoleon died Saturday at Fulton Manor Nursing Home in Wauseon.
Born April 15, 1927, in Amboy Township, Hillsdale County, Mich., he was the son of Frank S. and Pauline (Greek) Hollstein. On May 22, 1948, he married Donna J. Ellinwood, who survives.
He was the parts manager for Snyder Chevrolet Olds Co. of Napoleon for 42 years before retiring in 1990. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served in the Asiatic Pacific area. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a life member of the American Legion Post #300, both of Napoleon.
He is also survived by two daughters, Karen (Tracey) Newcomb of Wauseon and Kathy (Neal) Kruse of Westerville, Ohio; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Brian Hall officiating. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Isabelle L. Pettit, 97, formerly of Grand Rapids, died Sunday at The Cedars Nursing Home in Leo, Ind.
Born Dec. 29, 1910, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Rollo J. and Alta (Weaver) Shull. On Aug. 18, 1942, she married Harry R. Pettit, who preceded her in death in April of 1997.
She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bowling Green State University, where she was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar. She retired in 1974 from Grand Rapids/Otsego Schools, where she had taught English, history and Latin for many years. She had previously taught in the Willard School system. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Chapter #356 Order of Eastern Star, both of Grand Rapids, and was also a longtime member of the Grand Rapids Pool Board.
She is survived by a daughter, Charmaine (Alan) Lewis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Rev. Mark Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Hockman Cemetery, McClure.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Eastern Star memorial services will begin at 7:30.

Michael P. “Mike” Rupp, 60, of Archbold died Sunday at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
Born Nov. 7, 1947, in Wauseon, he was the son of Margeret (Heer) Rupp of Archbold and the late Paul “Bud” Rupp. On Aug. 23, 1968, he married Bonnie Brown, who survives.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of Adrian College. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated The Pop Shop in Archbold for more than 25 years. He was a member of Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church and served on the board of directors for the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo. He was active with the jail ministry at CCNO and in various men’s ministry groups, was a former member of the Ohio Jaycees and was a substitute teacher in many local schools.
He is also survived by two daughters, Valerie (Jay) Isaacson of Napa, Calif., and Stephanie (Kevin) Cornell of Archbold; two brothers, Edward of Mexico and Joseph (Jean) of Archbold; a sister, Mary Rupp of Archbold; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, Pastor Brad Bame and Pastor Stuart Rex officiating.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

He was a farmer and truck driver for Ridgeville Elevator for the last 10 years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Hamler, where he served as a former deacon and usher and played on the church softball team. He was also a lifetime Patrick Henry High School Booster.
He is also survived by three daughters, Peggy (David) Follett of Deshler, Cynthia (Roger) Dinius of Cincinnati and Diane (Michael) Elchinger of Ney; two sons, James (Barbara) of Occidental, Calif., and Michael (Jacqueline) of Napoleon; a brother, Fredric (Voleta) of Findlay; a sister, Carol (Ronald) Gerken of Deshler; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two infant children, Patty Lynn and Joel Richard Willford; and a brother, Robert.

Born Nov. 19, 1927, in Liberty Township, she was the daughter of Ferdinand and Ella (Buchenberg) Imbrock. On Sept. 7, 1947, she married Raymond Cordes at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Hamler, who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2002.
A homemaker, she was a reporter for the “Lutheran Digest” and the “Farmland News.” She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, Mary Martha Circle and Crossway’s study group. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township, where she was a member of the Women of Life and a Sunday school teacher. A Gideon member, she was also an auxiliary member at the Ridgeville American Legion Post #454 and a member of the NAMI of Four County.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Cordes of Columbus; two sons, Bill (Rita) of Napoleon and Daniel (Cathy) of Waterville; a sister, Bertha Fisher of Waterville; two brothers, Alvin (Wilma) Imbrock of Hamler and Arnold (Helen) Imbrock of Waverly, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Imbrock.

Harold W. Shock, 83, of Jewell died Friday at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Born June 12, 1924, in Defiance County, he was the son of Henry L. Shock and Bertha Rettig.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a procurement agent and office manager at the Department of Defense (Civil Service) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Branch, Chicago, retiring in 1984. He was also inspector of fruits and vegetables at Ohio Inspector Service, Columbus, and worked at the Zeller Corp. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Holgate, where he was past deacon and eldor, and was a retired life member of the Jewell Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a charter member and past commander of Community Memorial American Legion Post #635 of Jewell and a life member of V.F.W. Post #3360, DAV #36 and AMVETS #1991.
He is survived by three brothers, Howard and Bernard, both of Defiance, and Carl of Pahrump, Nev.; and three sisters, Ruth Shock and Ethel Panning, both of Jewell, and Lois Oberhaus of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Shock.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John United Church of Christ, Rev. Jane Hillman officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery with military graveside rites.

Howard H. Armstrong, 90, of Napoleon and formerly of Stow, Ohio, died Thursday at Country View Haven.
Born Nov. 10, 1917, in Ithaca, N.Y., he was the son of Walter E. and Pearl (Holden) Armstrong. On March 22, 1941, he married Marilyn Sherman, who preceded him in death in 1991.
He graduated in 1940 from Cornell University with a degree in engineering and worked as an engineer for the B.F. Goodrich Co. for 44 years, retiring in 1984.
He is survived by four sons, Alan of Darien, Conn., Richard of Huntington, W.Va., Donald of Houston, Texas, and James of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Maryl Matheny of Liberty Center; two sisters, Helen Hughs of Vestal, N.Y., and Betty Warner of Puyallup, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, David and John; and a step brother, Kenneth Maas.

Born Sept. 2, 1931, in Dupont, Ohio, he was the son of Dorr Dimock and Agnes Critten. On Nov. 30, 1955, he married Jeanette “Jan” Horner, who survives.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked at GM Powertrain before retiring in 1989 after 40 years. He was a volunteer sheriff’s deputy for Paulding County and a volunteer fireman for Auglaize Township. He was a former member of Melrose United Methodist Church and a member of Free Christian Church and held various offices in both churches. He was a member of the American Legion in Defiance and the Local UAW #211.
He is also survived by two sons, Dean (Kandi) and Dana (Barbara), both of Defiance; a daughter, Dawn (Dan) Recker of Continental; a brother, Ed (Carolyn) of Napoleon; three sisters, Faye Kamphause and Donna (Nolan) Shisler, both of Oakwood, Ohio, and Marceile (Vic) Tuohy of Defiance; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; six sisters; and a grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Free Christian Church, Continental, Pastor James Fry officiating. Interment will be at Monroe Township Cemetery, Putnam, with military graveside rites performed by the V.F.W.

He worked for C.F. Gerken & Sons of Napoleon for 30 years and the City of Napoleon for 11 years, retiring January of 1998. Additionally, he owned Sonny’s Carry Out and Delta Commodities, Inc., both of Napoleon. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Napoleon Township, where he was a deacon, treasurer and on the church building committee. He was also a member of PERS, Napoleon Lutheran Home building committee and on the Napoleon City Tree Commission.
He is also survived by two daughters, Vicki L. (Michael) Saneholtz and Peggy L. (Stephen) Mossing, both of Napoleon; two sons, Bruce M. (Kathryn) and John A., both of Napoleon; a sister, Carol Gerken of Napoleon; a brother, Dean (Barbara) of Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was born April 10, 1924, in Napoleon Township, to the late Alvin and Alvina (Miller) Bostelman. On July 21, 1944, he married Clara (Schroeder) Bostelman, who preceded him on Dec. 24, 2007.
Mel was a lifelong farmer. He was member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Napoleon Township, where he served as deacon and eldor. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna (Dennis) Schlueter of Napoleon; sons, Ronald (Cheryl) Bostelman of Napoleon, Larry (Linda) Bostelman of Wauseon, Fred (Marolyn) Bostelman of Archbold and James (Abigail) Bostelman of Napoleon; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edgar (Lois) Bostelman of Toledo; sisters, Nettie Homan of Napoleon and Kate Meyer of Deshler; and a step sister, Ruth (Tom) Von Deylen of Ft. Bruce A. Short, 59, formerly of Archbold died Wednesday at Southpoint Hospital, Warrensville, Ohio. He was a resident at Warrensville Developmental Center for the past five years.
Born Nov. 24, 1948, in Wauseon, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Bessie (Miller) Short.
He attended Pettisville School.
He is survived by two brothers, Lynn (Bonnie) of Archbold and Rick (Teresa) of Toledo; two sisters, Beverly Short (Reimar Goetzke) of British Columbia and Julie Short (Dennis Grossman) of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Zion Mennonite Church, Archbold, with Pastor Mona Sauder officiating. Interment will precede at 10 a.m. in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sunshine Home.

Carlton Lemon

Carlton Lemon, 79, of Malinta died Wednesday at The Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
Born June 18, 1928, in Napoleon, he was the son of John R. and Opal (Shreves) Lemon. On May 3, 1952, he married Elizabeth Like, who survives.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #400 in Malinta. An educator, he taught agricultural mechanics for Four County Vocational School and the Vanguard Vocational School of Fremont. He was also a district service manager for the International Harvester Corp. and was employed for many years at the former L.S. Dunbar Co. in Napoleon. He was also co-owner of the Malinta Farm Equipment Co.
He is also survived by two sons, James (Susan) of Urbana, Ohio, and John (Paula) of Angola, Ind.; three daughters, Denise (Gary) Short of Archbold, Susan (Doug) Behnfeldt of Wauseon and Colleen (David) Manahan of Archbold; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Clifford “Bud”; and two sisters, Ethel Nartker and Ireta Deventhal.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Father Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #400 of Malinta.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30.

Harley F. Keith, 89, of Napoleon died Tuesday at his residence.
Born Sept. 28, 1918, in Colby, Kan., he was the son of Edwin A. and Alta E. (Mallory) Keith. On Aug. 19, 1944, he married Gertrude Parsels, who preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1998. He later married Ruby Patton-Harbor, and she survives.
He owned and operated Keith Gulf Service in Napoleon and retired from the Campbell Soup Supply Co. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Napoleon. A World War II Army veteran, he was a life member of Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post #300, Disabled American Veterans, Henry County Chapter #30, and was a former member of the Henry County Veterans Commission. He was also a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge #260 of Tontogany and the Rebecca Lodge of Liberty Center.
He is also survived by two sons, Leroy A. (Karen) of Napoleon and Timothy J. (Kim) of Wauseon; two step daughters, Edith (Jim) Baldwin of Upper Sandusky and Elda Wenzel of Napoleon; a step son, Tom (Kathy) Harbor of Napoleon; three grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 33 step great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three step sons, Louis, Fred and David Harbor; a brother, Gerald; and three sisters, Dorothy L. Keith, Veda Lawson and Evelyn M. Voitenko.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church, Rev. Linda Hedden officiating. Interment will be at Hoy Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the Joint Veterans Posts of Napoleon.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary, where a Rebecca Lodge service will begin at 4 and an I.O.O.F. service will begin at 7.

Rita Gerschutz, 84, of Holgate died Wednesday at Golden LivingCenter-Northcrest in Napoleon.
Born July 2, 1923, in New Bavaria, she was the daughter of Martin and Helen (Warnimont) Klear. On Oct. 9, 1943, she married Leo Gerschutz, who preceded her in death May 19, 1996.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate, and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Past Presidents Club and was a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels.
She is survived by five daughters, Marilyn (Frank) Thome of Pleasant Bend, Barb (Marv) Thompson of Scott, Ohio, Lynnette (Nick) Moser of Van Buren, Jane (Ron) Siebeneck of Kalida and Beth (Jim) Tobias of Holgate; two sisters, Mary Snyder of New Bavaria and Angela Schroeder of Columbus Grove; two brothers, Kenny Klear of North Creek and Norbert Klear of Ottawa; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Paul Klear; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Ronald G. Wiemken of Waterville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008.
He was born in Henry County, Ohio, to George and Elta Wiemken (nee Riefers) on March 23, 1936. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (nee Bardo); a son Gregory; daughter-in-law Kathy; and grandchildren Bradley and Alexandra. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Perry. Surviving siblings are Marlene (Marvin, deceased) Buchhop, Doretta (Leonard) Longstreet and Larry (Sharon) Wiemken. Ronald and his siblings performed in The Little German Band in their youth.
Ronald retired as an area contract landscaper 12 years ago. In his retirement, he enjoyed tending to his yard, listening to polka music and spending time with his family. Ronald served as president of the Waterville Rotary Club, was a member of the Ohio Nurseryman’s Association and was a United States Army veteran.
Friends and family may visit Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Road, Waterville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church, 22 N. Second St., Waterville, at 11 a.m. Pastors Steven Bauerle and Kurt Meyers will be officiating.

He is also survived by a triplet sister, Delilah Jo Buckmaster; grandparents Tom and Sandy Von Deylen of Napoleon and Rick and Bonnie Buckmaster of Clinton, Mich.; and great-grandparents Bill and Janet Von Deylen and Willie and Arlene Gerken, all of Napoleon, and Loretta Gurk of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by a triplet sister, Lily K. Buckmaster; and great-grandparents Phyllis Von Deylen and Clinton and Edna Hoelzer.

Teresa E. Jones, 89 years, of Bryan died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Hillside Country Living.
She was born on May 8, 1918, in Blakeslee, Ohio, the daughter of William and Rose (Huard) Siebenaler. She married Harold E. Jones on July 25, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2000.
Teresa was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, where she was active in the Shamrock Circle and the Young at Heart Club. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montpelier, where she was active in the Altar & Rosary Society and the St. Catherine’s Circle. Teresa was also active in the West Unity C.B.S. Study Club, Hilltop Band Parents and the Extension Homemakers. She also served as a volunteer quilter at Sauder Village. She was a R.S.V.P. Volunteer and a former 4-H advisor. Teresa volunteered, along with her husband Harold, with various American Cancer Society projects and founding of the Williams County Parkinson’s Support Group. She was an avid quilter, cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and Scrabble.
Surviving are her children, William and his wife Janie Jones of San Diego, Calif., Mary Ellen and her husband William Vandivier of Pittsburgh, Pa., Stephen and his wife Linda Jones of Montpelier, Daniel and his wife Sherry Jones of Fairview Park, Ohio, and Laura and her husband Tracy Rohlf of West Unity, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, Mollie and Scottie Jones, Ellie and her husband Kevin Fleming, Owen and his wife Jaye Vandivier, Peter Vandivier, Amy and her husband Kevin Scott, Jeff and his wife, Selena Jones, Greg and his wife, Sarah Jones, Heather, Kelly, Nathan and Adam Jones, Denny and his wife Ali Rohlf, and Krysten and Michael Rohlf; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon and Katelyn Scott, Jocelyn and Ethan Jones and Addy Jones. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jackie Bowers of Huntington, Ind., along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Martha Ann in 1953; five sisters, Isabelle Lirot, Florence Siebenaler, Wilma Welsh, Marie Siebenaler and Frances Clark; and seven brothers, Linus, Raymond, Paul, Simon, Homer, Clarence and James Siebenaler.
Funeral services for Teresa E. Jones will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father Charles Ritter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakeslee.
Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan, with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Born Sept. 18, 1961, in Wauseon, she was the daughter of Marlene (Fether) Nofziger of Archbold and the late Kenneth Nofziger.
A barber, she owned and operated Barber Pole in Bryan for 20 years and worked for Sunshine Home for the past six years. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Toledo.
She is also survived by a brother, Lamonte (Josette) Nofziger of Archbold; and two sisters, Cindy Lienau of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Teresa (Rick) Short of Toledo.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Short Funeral Home, Archbold, Rev. Erich Christman and Pastor Richard Maus officiating. Interment will follow at Archbold Cemetery.

Phyllis Jean Van deBussche, 80, of Fayette and formerly of Deshler died Sunday at her residence.
Born Jan. 13, 1927, she was the daughter of Ernest T. and Bernice P. (Slaughterbeck) Phillips. On Dec. 23, 1944, she married Julius J. “Scratch” Van deBussche, who preceded her in death in 1988.
An EMT with Deshler EMS, she worked as a paint technician for more than 14 years at the Budd Co. of North Baltimore. She had also worked at and was a member of the former Eagles Lodge of Deshler and owned her own restaurants in North Baltimore and Deshler.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie (Tim) Ludeman of Fayette; four sons, Thomas (Leah) Van deBussche of Tawneytown, Md., Roger Van deBussche of Perrysburg, Brad (Denise) Jordan of Toledo and Paul (Robyn) Van deBussche of Hamler; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James Van deBussche; a brother, Robert J. Phillips; and sister, Glendora Snyder.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, Pastor Kim Repp officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler.

Born April 19, 1918, he was the son of John and Helen (Wachtman) Norden. On Feb. 14, 1942, he married Bernice Wendt, who survives.
A life member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church-Adams Ridge, he served as deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the church bowling league. A lifelong farmer, he was a former school bus driver for Northeastern Local School for 14 years and also worked at Campbell Soup Supply Co.
He is also survived by five daughters, Marsha (Kenny) Drewes, Gwen (Randy) Mekus and Renee (Tim) Roberts, all of Defiance, Deborah Norden of Maumee and Michelle (Greg) Hornish of Hicksville; four sons, Michael and Terry, both of Napoleon, Randall of Mansfield and Tim (Linda) of Defiance; 20 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Edgar, Eldor, Ray and Bill; two sisters, Alma Norden and Leona Helmke; an infant sister, Martha; and a step grandchild.

Mary R. Schlatter, 86, of Archbold died Saturday at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Born Oct. 1, 1921, in Monclova, she was the daughter of Edward and Clara Williams. On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Myles Schlatter, who preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1970.
She worked at the former Ruffer’s Market and Williams Five and Dime Store, both in Archbold, and later was a library assistant at the McLaughlin Memorial Library in Archbold from 1967 until retiring in 1984. She was a member of Archbold United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher.
She is survived by a son, Michael of San Francisco; and a daughter, Shelby (Gary) Miles of Liberty Center.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Williams; and a sister, Edna Seiler.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Archbold United Methodist Church, Rev. David David officiating. Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Archbold Cemetery.

Mary Ellen Smith, 63, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 13, 1944, in Dante, Va., to the late Joseph and Mildred (Greer) Ramey. On May 1, 1982, she married Leslie Gene Smith at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township, and he survives.
She worked for Gendron, Inc. in Archbold, Ohio for 24 years. She was a confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her husband, Les; first husband and family friend Dan Curl; a daughter, Mrs. Dee Hall of Napoleon; a step daughter, Ronda (Richard) Russell of Wauseon, Ohio; grandchildren, Greg Hall, Eugene Hall, Richard Russell Jr., Riley Russell, Chad Brubaker and Chelsa Brubaker; three brothers, Rev. Ted (Marilyn) Ramey of Sherwood, Ohio, Bob (Patsy) Ramey of Napoleon and Sam Ramey of Sherwood; and a sister, Brenda (Robert) Richardson of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Jon Hall; a step daughter, Mrs. Nancy Brubaker; and three sisters, Mrs. Vicki Von Deylen, Teresa Ramey and Gwynna Ramey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township, with Pastor Douglas Corniels officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Kenneth O. Garmenn of Delta died Friday.
Born Aug. 24, 1929, he was the son of Owen C. and Rosa (Bauer) Garmenn.
He began work in the oil business at age 13. He owned The C&O Truck Stop, C&O #2 and #3, Adams Oil, Phillips 66, The Dream Boat Nite Club and started his own garage business and leaf collection business for six towns, with trucks he built. He played Santa Claus for years, visiting children in many different towns and distributing gifts at his own expense.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; four daughters, Judy (Todd) Clemens of Defiance and Janet (Doug) McCabe, Julie (Mark) Fitch and Jill (Scott) Bernthisel, all of Grand Rapids; two sons, Kenneth (Mary) and Daren (Lorena), both of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Darrel (Lucinda) and Phillip (Linda); a sister, Arlene Baus; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friends Don and Chris Mitchell of Waterville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard; and three sisters, Wilma, Vernabell and Carol.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barnes Funeral Chapel, Delta, Pastor Charles Althoff officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

A mechanic for Snyder Chevrolet, he also worked for the Holgate and Stanley elevator. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate, and The Fellowship Club-AA and farmed and restored antique tractors.
He is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Chuck) Bowers of Ottawa; a sister, Linda (Michael) Rosebrock of Holgate; and three grandchildren.

Margaret A. Fahy, 97, of Napoleon died Saturday at Henry County Hospital.
Born May 4, 1910, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Herman and Katherine (Haase) Hahn. On Oct. 14, 1941, she married James B. Fahy, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1961.
She owned and operated a beauty shop in Napoleon for 58 years before retiring. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon and the American Legion Post #300 Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sisters, Herminia Sherman of Bellfontaine and Julia Heitman of Napoleon.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Otto Hahn.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Emanual Lutheran Church, Rev. James Castello officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Napoleon.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Eunice Mallett, 86, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and formerly of Defiance died Wednesday at Regency Place Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Albert and Josephine (Niehaus) Witte.
She retired in 1986 from Tenneco Corp. in Napoleon.
She is survived by four daughters, Christine Fox (Howard) Johnston of Indianapolis, Susan (Tony) Cramer of Napoleon, Julie (Dan) Replogle of Fort Wayne and Linda (Chuck) Swisher of Rickville, Ind.; a son, Stephen (Paula) of Defiance; a brother, Dr. Albert Witte Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Jean Beckner of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Michael; and a sister, Elaine Inderhees.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at St. Isidore The Bend Catholic Church in Defiance. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.

Genevieve “Genny” Yaw

Genevieve “Genny” Yaw, 79, died Thursday.
Born Nov. 21, 1928, in Toledo, she was the daughter of Paul Sr. and Idola (Sloan) Reynolds. On Sept. 3, 1949, she married Larry Yaw.
A member of Zion United Methodist Church, Whitehouse, she belonged to the Woodward Class of 1948 and Toledo Chapter OES 341. She was formerly a member of Wesley UM, Toledo, active in the junior church program and Asbury class.
She is survived by three sons, John (Cheryl) of Liberty Center, Dan (Kat) of Orlando, Fla., and Don (Tina) of Elliston, Va.; three daughters, Tammy Spino of Neapolis, Cindy (Mike) Walbolt of Monclova and Deb (Andy) Ross of Colorado Springs, Co.; two sisters, Juanita Spencer and Evelyn (Bill) Stilwell; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Reynolds Jr. and Jack Reynolds.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peinert’s Funeral Home, Whitehouse, with Rev. Gary Green officiating.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Harold “Bob” Moss DDS

Harold “Bob” Moss DDS, 88, of Delta died Tuesday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee.
Born April 26, 1919, in Mead, Neb., he was the son of foster parents Robert and Helen (Morse) Moss. On July 28, 1945, he married Patricia J., who survives.
A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy for 49 months as a pharmacist’s mate. In 1951, he graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., with a degree in dentistry. He started his practice in Delta in August of 1951 and maintained the practice for more than 32 years before retiring in 1982. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Society and Delta American Legion and a past member of the Delta Rotary Club. He was a former president of the Maumee Valley Dental Society and the Delta School Board and was president and treasurer of the Fulton County Humane Society.
He is also survived by three daughters, Michele (Bill) Stanchina of Pittsburg, Jill Moss Stetson of Chicago and Patrice D. Moss of Toledo; a son, Brent (Diane) of Montpelier; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at Barnes Funeral Chapel, Pastor David Rison officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Delta American Legion or the Humane Ohio of Greater Toledo.

Herbert C. Grieser, 79, of Archbold died Tuesday at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Born Nov. 26, 1928, near Archbold, he was the son of Charles J. and Sophie (Rupp) Grieser. On Aug. 2, 1953, he married Betty Coy, who survives.
He owned and operated Promised Land Insurance in Stryker and Grieser Trucking in Archbold. He worked with the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and was a lay minister at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and Transport for Christ. He was a member of Gideons International.
He is also survived by a son, Jerry (Jill) of Archbold; two daughters, Judy (Curtis) Nofziger and Janna (Sam D.) Short, both of Archbold; three brothers, Paul E. (Evelyn) of Archbold, Willard “Bill” (Marilyn) of Wauseon and Glen (Karen) of Hamilton, Ind.; three sisters, Lueen Riegsecker and Virginia (Kenneth E.) Lee, both of Archbold, and Berneda (Dean) Wyse of West Unity; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, Pastor Don Harris and Rev. Charles Zimmerman officiating. Interment will precede at Pettisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:30-8 p.m. Friday at Fairlawn Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gideons International.

Cloyce H. Detmer, 98, of Napoleon died Monday at Henry County Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Henry County, he was the son of Charles L. and Elizabeth (Rettig) Detmer. On Feb. 19, 1933, he married Aurelia B. Austermiller, who preceded him in death Feb. 22, 2005.
A retired farmer, he was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ of Holgate, the Henry County Sportsman Club and the Coon Hunters Association.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd; and a sister, Esther Sheller McVetta.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Jane Hillman officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church or the Monroe Township Fire Department.

Billie “Marie” Muscatello

Billie “Marie” Muscatello, 93, of Napoleon and formerly of Bethesda, Md., died Thursday at The Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
Born Jan. 30, 1914, she was the daughter of John and Willie (McGrew) Baker. In 1940, she married Philip Muscatello, who preceded her in death in 1978.
Before moving to Ohio, she was a registered nurse for many years in Maryland.
Services will be private. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Center for Child and Family Advocacy, Napoleon.

Alma Meyer
July 26, 1916 - Dec. 30, 2007
Alma Meyer died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in the Elizabeth Scott Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Alma, the daughter of Karl R. Oberhaus and Ida K. Buchenburg, was born on July 26, 1916, in Napoleon, Ohio, on the farm. She was the third of nine brothers and sisters. She married Albert H. Meyer on April 18, 1936. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1991.
Alma was the cook for Huenefeld Nursing Home for many years. She then became a salesperson in the yard goods department of JC Penney for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
Alma enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with her husband. In her spare time, she also enjoyed riding her tricycle through her neighborhood, gardening and sewing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Maumee for 55 years.
Surviving Alma are her daughters, Shirley (Milt) Keener, Jean (Virgil) Behnfeldt and Delores (Bob) Hanf; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Leona (Henry) Bahler.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 112 E. Wayne St., Maumee, where services will follow at noon. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Okalona, Ohio.
