Richard C. “Sully” Sullivan
June 30, 1928 - Feb. 27, 2008
Richard C. “Sully” Sullivan of Delta died Wednesday at University Medical Center of Toledo.
Born June 30, 1928, in Inkster, Mich., he was the son of Ruth Deck Sullivan and Glen Sullivan, his step father. On March 20, 1948, he married Virginia Lehman, who survives.
He was a self-employed plastering contractor for more than 25 years until changing careers and working for Riverside Hospital in 1981 as construction manager. He retired from Riverside in 1993. He served on Delta City Council for 16 years, and spent many years as vice mayor. He was a former Fulton County Democratic chairman, president of the Delta Boosters and president of the Little League. He was also instrumental in the construction of the Delta reservoir and the new fire station.
He is also survived by two daughters, Kristine (Jerry) Demaline and Lyn (Mike) Kruse; a son, Scott (Peggy); a half brother, James (Caroline) Sullivan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Barnes Funeral Chapel, Delta. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Leona M. Saneholtz
April 21, 1909 - Feb. 28, 2008
Leona M. Saneholtz, 98, a longtime resident of Liberty Township, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2008, at Country View Haven, Napoleon, where she was a resident.
Born in Washington Township on April 21, 1909, Leona was the daughter of the late A. Lincoln and Christina (Eichner) Barlow. She married Donald E. Saneholtz on Oct. 16, 1927. Both attended Liberty Center High School and spent their entire 70 years of married life at the family farm on Road T. Donald passed away April 14, 1998.
Survivors include daughters, Melba Patsy Leatherman, Napoleon, and Elnora Bechtol, Findlay; sons, Dr. William Saneholtz, Columbus, Milton Saneholtz, Toledo, and Phil (Linda) Saneholtz, Maineville; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
One son, Burdette Saneholtz, preceded her in death on March 15, 2003, as did her granddaughter, Beverly Speiser, on Feb. 6, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Irvin, John, Ernest and Edward Barlow; and sisters, Gertrude Greisinger and Ada Gerken.
Leona’s many activities as a farm wife and homemaker centered around family and friends. She was an involved member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid group. She and Donald were life-long members of the Henry County Farm Bureau and were 4-H leaders.
She was a member of the Liberty Center Garden Club since 1977 and was honored with a state award as an amateur gardener from the Ohio Association of Gardens Clubs in August 1982.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Condrey presiding. Burial will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Liberty Center Public Library.

Abrianna Caprice Costanzo was stillborn Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Defiance Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Alisa Bowman and Matthew Costanzo of Bryan.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Mattalyn James Costanzo; grandparents Carrie (Gerald) Westrick Jr. and Kathy Iler, both of Bryan, Wesley Bowman Sr. of Sherwood and Dan (Kathy) Winkle of Leipsic; great-grandparents James Clifton and John Oiler, both of Bryan, and MaryAnn Bowman of Sherwood; and great-great-grandmother Anna Dalton of Ney.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, James H. Costanzo; a great-grandmother, Susan Oiler; and a great-great-grandfather, James Dalton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan, Pastor Mike Kelly officiating.
Visitation will be an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Jane Blosser, 82, of Archbold died Wednesday at Heartland of Wauseon.
Born Oct. 11, 1925, near Archbold, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Mabel (Roth) Seiler. On Aug. 15, 1943, she married Marquis Blosser, who preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1999.
She worked at Sheridan Manufacturing in Wauseon for more than 30 years and was a member of Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church.
She is survived by a son, Lonnie of Wauseon; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eldora Seiler.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Short Funeral Home, Archbold, Pastor Stuart Rex officiating. Interment will follow at Pettisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Edward H. Yoder
Feb. 15, 1926 - Feb. 25, 2008
Edward H. Yoder, 82, of Archbold died Monday at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Midland, Mich., he was the son of Henry and Velma (Miller) Yoder. On Sept. 12, 1948, he married Miriam Eash, who survives.
He worked at Sauder Woodworking Co. and Harold Liechty Construction and retired from Sauder Manufacturing, all of Archbold. He spent his years after retirement as a volunteer at Sauder Village and also delivered Meals-on-Wheels for Fairlawn Haven. He was a member of Lockport Mennonite Church of rural Stryker.
He is also survived by two sons, Dan (Renee) of Archbold and Lamont (Charlene) of Sunbury; two daughters, Teresa (Richard) Stebbins of Grand Rapids and Greta (Tom) Landis of East Berlin, Pa.; four brothers, Richard (Barbara) of Goshen, Ind., Lawrence (Doris) of Midland, Karl (Pauline) of Peoria, Ill., and Joe (Margo) of Groveland, Ill.; four sisters, Vera Wiebe of Beatrice, Neb., Kathryn (Emery) Crawford of Wauseon, Juanita (DeVere) Roth of Gridley, Ill., and Marjorie Katzenmeier of Suamico, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lockport Mennonite Church, Pastor Charles Gautsche and Pastor Pamela Short officiating. Interment will precede at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Fairlawn Chapel.

Jean A. Weigel, 80, of Archbold died Tuesday at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harold and Grace (Jones) Atwell. On Oct. 25, 1952, she married Melvin Weigel, who survives.
Prior to her retirement, she served as a church secretary for Zion United Methodist Church in Toledo.
She is also survived by a son, Clifford of Stryker; a daughter, Linda Heberling of Toledo; a sister, Barbara Roberts of Newbury, N.H.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fairlawn Haven chapel, Rev. Crystal Goodnight officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at the chapel.

James L. Hastedt, 54, of Napoleon died Monday at the Medical University of Toledo.
Born March 31, 1953, in Napoleon, he was the son of Evelyn (Schwienhagen) Hastedt of Napoleon and the late Eldon Hastedt. On Jan. 10, 1981, he married Diane Panning, who survives.
He was co-owner and operator of J.A.D. Machine Co., Inc. of Malinta. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, where he was a former usher and elder, and was also a member of the Bavarian Haus in Deshler.
He is also survived by two daughters, Alicia (Craig) Gossman and Anna (Brad) Musshel, both of Napoleon; a son, Alex of Napoleon; a sister, Brenda (Carey) Plummer of Napoleon; a brother, Bruce of Napoleon; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Peter Marcis and Pastor John Holyer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Robert G. Roth, 71, of Archbold died Sunday at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Born Aug. 25, 1936, near Archbold, he was the son of Irvin and Delia (Grieser) Roth.
He served in the U.S. National Guard, farmed and worked at Con Agra in Archbold for 40 years.
He is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Roth of Archbold and Berniece Schock of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John J. Roth.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Short Funeral Home, Archbold, Pastor Daniel Douglass officiating. Interment will follow at Pettisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James P. Eitzman
June 11, 1940 - Feb. 25, 2008
James P. Eitzman, 67, of Napoleon died Monday at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.
Born June 11, 1940, in Holgate, he was the son of Carl and Alameda (Groll) Eitzman. On Aug. 18, 1962, he married Juanita Punches, who survives.
A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, he retired after 35 years with the production department of the GM Powertrain Plant in Defiance. He was a Vietnam era Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #300 in Napoleon and the UAW Local #211 of Defiance.
He is also survived by three sons, Greg of Liberty Center and Gary and Jeff, both of Napoleon; a brother, Dale of Edgerton; three sisters, Jackie (Orville) Weirauch of Napoleon, Bonnie (Mike) Sito of Bellefontaine and Sandy (John) Folk of New Bavaria; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and a step great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Eitzman; a brother, Marion; and four sisters, Helen Franz, Dorothy Ordway, Jennette Engel and Joyce Sito.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Rev. Peter Marcis and Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance, with military honors accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Mortuary and an hour prior to services at the church Thursday.

Arthur E. Austermiller, 64, of Bowling Green and formerly of Malinta died Saturday at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio.
Born Nov. 21, 1943, in Morganfield, Ky., he was the son of Leona (Boden) Austermiller and the late Donald Austermiller. On Aug. 31, 1991, he married Karen Schall, who preceded him in death Sept. 8, 2007.
He worked as a millwright for Glass Tec of Perrysburg and was active in real estate in the Bowling Green area. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles #2180, V.F.W. #1148 and AMVETS.
He is survived by a two step sons, Kyle Radish of Jerry City and Kevin Radish of Coldwater, Mich.; a brother, Robert of Napoleon; and two sisters, Sharon (Steve) Berning of Garrett, Ind., and Beverly Eickhoff of Malinta.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peinert Funeral Home, Tontogany, Ohio, Pastor Jane Hillman officiating.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donald D. Ott

Donald D. Ott, 75, of Defiance died Friday at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Born April 20, 1932, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Peter C. and Freda M. (Cook) Ott. On March 24, 1951, he married M. Ruth Besore, who preceded him in death Nov. 8, 1999.
He worked as an assistant golf professional at a club in Carlisle, Pa., and, in 1953, he began working as an assistant under Floyd March in Lima. After being certified as a professional in 1955, he was the head golf professional at Kettenring Country Club in Defiance for 35 years, retiring in 1990. A life member of the Professional Golfers Association and the Defiance Elks Lodge #147, he was a member of the United States Golfers Association and a past member of Defiance College’s Purple an Gold Club.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Faye) of Kempner, Texas, and Jeff (Belinda) of Defiance; a daughter, Debra Ott Pratt of Defiance; a sister, Bertha L. Furry of Fayetteville, Pa; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elwood C.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at White Church Cemetery in Chambersburg.
There will be no visitation.

Ricky Joe Fletcher, 52, of McClure died Friday at his residence.
Born Sept. 13, 1955, in Tiffin, he was the son of Eugene and Marlene (Hile) Fletcher of Vanlue, Ohio.
He was employed at Campbell Soup Supply Co. for 30 years. He was a former volunteer member of the McClure and Napoleon EMS.
He is also survived by two sons, Matt (Pauly) of Sherwood and Eric (Jenna) of Napoleon; three brothers, Gary (Deb), Jeff (Pam) of Napoleon and Mark of Germany; three sisters, Penny (John) Hawkins of Kentucky, Pam (Mike) Moose of Kenton, Ohio, and Peggy (Dale) Huston of Rawson, Ohio; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his significant other, Sue Jenkins of McClure.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure. Interment will follow at Hockman Cemetery in McClure.

David C. Weber, 68, of Archbold died Friday at Flower Hospital in Sylvania.
Born Nov. 16, 1939, in Wauseon, he was the son of Alvy and Almeda (Goldsmith) Weber. On Aug. 8, 1963, he married Dianna J. Turner, who preceded him in death May 16, 2001.
He delivered gas for Sohio, operated Tiny’s Pizza in Archbold, worked at Sauder Woodworking Co. in Archbold for 15 years and drove school bus for Archbold Area Schools for 15 years before retiring in 2001. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington, the American Legion B.L.W. Post #311, Republican National Committee and the Heritage Foundation.
He is survived by a son, David R. (Julie) of Archbold; two daughters, Jackie (Jon) Wyse of Archbold and Jody (Troy) Zaerr of Mason; a sister, Judy (Steward) Wyse of Archbold; five grandchildren; and special friend, The General.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul “Tiny.”
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Pastor James Strawn officiating. Private interment will be at the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion B.W.L. Post #311.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Mary Louise Froelich, 61, of Napoleon died Friday at Henry County Hospital.
Born May 19, 1946, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Fred and Bessie (Wigfield) Yocom. On June 25, 1964, she married Daryl J. Froelich, who survives.
A housewife and mother, she was a member of the First Church of Christ, Napoleon.
She is also survived by a son, David (Connie) of Napoleon; two daughters, Donna (Jeremy) Schwiebert and Denise (Brian) Cherry, both of Napoleon; a brother, James (Lovina) Yocom of Napoleon; and a sister, Carolyn Doty of Napoleon.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Lee Genter officiating. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the mortuary 2-8 p.m. Sunday.

Thomas R. Morris, 57, of Delta died Wednesday.
Born Nov. 30, 1950, in Toledo, he was the son of the late David E. Morris and Joan (Fetter) Morris, who survives. He married Julie Wills, who also survives.
He was a self-employed building contractor.
He is also survived by two daughters, Elisha and Laura Morris, both of Delta; a twin brother, David (Sherry) of Toledo; and a sister, Sandra (Edward) Lepiarz of Maumee.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barnes Funeral Chapel, Delta, Pastor David Rison and Pastor Steven Shelley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.

Rev. Walter H. Niermann

Rev. Walter H. Niermann, 80, of Napoleon died Friday at his residence.
Born July 2, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of Walter and Emma (Nehrt) Niermann. In 1951, he married Elvira M. Ziegelbein who preceded him in death in September 1998.
A Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor, he was a graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and he served three congregations during his ministry - Grace Lutheran in Blairstown, Iowa, from 1952-1957; Our Redeemer Lutheran in Iowa City, Iowa, from 1957-1984; and St. Paul Lutheran in Amherst, Ohio, from 1984-1992. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 11 years, and most recently a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Freedom Township.
He is survived by three sons, David of Minneapolis, Thomas (Pat) of Mahomet, Ill., and Rev. Stephen (Bonnie) of Napoleon; three daughters, Deborah Niermann of Waterloo, Iowa, Pamela (Kurt) Goebel of Danvers, Ill., and Elizabeth Niermann of Stow, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Timothy Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Rodenberger Funeral Home of Napoleon, immediately followed by a devotional service, and then 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church.

Virgil C. Fruth
Feb. 5, 1925 - Feb. 14, 2008
Virgil Charles Fruth, 83, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, died at his home on Feb. 14, 2008.
Born Feb. 5, 1925, in Lilbourne, Mo., he was the son of Edward and Freada (Yetter) Fruth. On April 5, 1947, he married Betty Jean Bettridge, who preceded him in death.
Virgil graduated from Napoleon High School in 1943. He went on to become an Ensign in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1948. He worked for Gulf Oil as a financial analyst for 37 years. He was a member of the Gethesame United Methodist Church in Houston.
Virgil is survived by his children, Lori Ann (Fruth) Kupsinel and Robert Fruth, both of Houston; his brothers, Lloyd Fruth of Fresno, Calif., and Larry Fruth of Bowling Green, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Marshann (Snyder) Fruth of Rotonda West, Fla.; and grandchildren Jason Fruth of San Jose, Calif., and Sarah Fruth of Houston.
Virgil was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Fruth; and a son, Richard Fruth.
A beautiful memorial service was held on Feb. 19, 2008, at the Gethesame United Methodist Church in Houston.

Adele Haubold, 97, of Archbold died Thursday at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Born April 29, 1910, in Frankfort, Germany, she was the daughter of Heinrich and Elsie Nadel. She married Gerhard Haubold, who preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a member of Pettisville Missionary Church and a former member of St. John’s Christian Church and St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, both of Archbold.
She is survived by a sister, Eugenie Wueinberg of New York; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christianne Podolak.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel at Fairlawn Haven, Pastor John Horning and Pastor Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment will follow at the Archbold Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the chapel.

Esther Marie Miller, 83, of Liberty Center died Wednesday at Heartland of Wauseon.
Born May 13, 1924, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Albert and Lydia (Norden) Hogrefe. In 1943, she married Charles Arthur Miller, who preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1980.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center.
She is survived by five sons, Charles “Skip” (Amy) of Wauseon, Lawrence “Louie” (Mary Beth), Howard (Deb) and Dale (Robin), all of Liberty Center, and Ray (Janie) of Waskom, Texas; a step daughter, Nancy (Les) Perry of Liberty Center; four brothers, Elmer Hogrefe of Holgate, David Hogrefe of St. Mary’s and Thomas and Donald Hogrefe, both of Michigan; three sisters, Dorothy Ford of Arkansas, Barbara Shortino of the State of Oregon and Marie Barton of Indiana; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Dick Hogrefe; and a sister, Sadonna Ralston.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Jeffrey Stone officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow services at the church, and private interment will be at Zion Cemetery, Wauseon.

She was a waitress at restaurants including Lasalle’s, Macy’s department store and Valleywood Golf Club.

Born Dec. 13, 1937, in Liberty Center, he was the son of Julian “Jim” and Emma (Bostelman) Myles of Liberty Center. On Sept. 28, 1958, he married Dorothy Jean Retting, who survives.
A farmer and carpenter, he was formerly employed as a truck driver by Custar Stone. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Holgate.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sandra (Dave) Houck of Napoleon; two sons, Michael (Theresa) of New Bavaria and James (Jeanette) of Holgate; a brother, Gary (Shelby) of Liberty Center; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be private.

Born May 2, 1940, in Keystone, Okla., she was the daughter of Dolores (Brodell) Matthews of Sylvania and the late John Matthews. On July 11, 1959, she married Frank J. Shipman, who survives.
An executive secretary at Seaway Foodtown for nearly 30 years, she retired in 2000. She was a member of Alva N. Sidle Post #232 American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose, both of Grand Rapids.
She is also survived by a son, John F. (Donna) of Sumter, S.C.; four sisters, Marilyn (Willie) Nieckarz of Wisconsin, Carol (Richard) Ludwig of Toledo, Elizabeth (Gene) Allison of Mesa, Ariz., and Robin (Dean) Harshman of Swanton; a brother, David (Barbara) Matthews of Bowling Green; and four grandchildren.

A lifelong Lucas County farmer, he was a United States Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1944-46 and attaining the rank of machinist mate. He was a life member of Alva N. Sidle Post #232 American Legion in Grand Rapids.
He is also survived by two daughters, Joan (Don) Estep and Deb (Bill) Hutchison, both of Grand Rapids; a brother, Lloyd (Ellouise) of Waterville; a sister, Lenore McKenzie of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Adam; and two sisters, Alma Hazlett and Doris Wulff.

Florence A. Bennett, 81, of rural Deshler died Tuesday at Birchaven Retirement Village in Findlay.
Born July 10, 1926, in Hancock County she was the daughter of Emmett and Chloie (Parker) Rader. On Aug. 31, 1945, she married Doyle V. Bennett, who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 2002.
She worked as a nurse’s aid at the former Oak Grove Manor in Deshler and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Oakdale United Methodist Church in Deshler and the United Methodist Women of the Church. She and her husband were members of the Flying Qual Antique Car Club in Fostoria.
She is survived by a son, Billy (Deb) of McComb; four daughters, Connie (Bruce) Long of Stafford, Va.; Bonnie (Don) Rosebrook and Kay (Eric) Conrad, both of Deshler, and Kathy (Don) Inman of Findlay; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Broach Miller and Doris Brown; two brothers, Donald and Charlie Rader; and a grandchild.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Interment will be at West Belmore Cemetery in Belmore, Ohio. A luncheon will follow the interment at Oakdale United Methodist Church.

Alvin E. Jackson, 74, of Wauseon died Tuesday at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Born April 22, 1933, in Smethport, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Ingram) Jackson. On April 12, 1962, he married Jacqueline D. Butts, who preceded him in death in 1989. On Jan. 8, 1994, he married Evelyn Rosa, who survives.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a service representative for Dresser-Rand of Houston, Texas for 42 years. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Wauseon V.F.W. and the Portville, N.Y. F&AM.
He is also survived by his step-mother Rita Graterol of Venezuela; a son, Mike (Nancy) Jackson of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter, Melanie Jackson of Cherryville, N.C.; two step daughters, Heilyn Pino of Wauseon and Helen Pino of Venezuela; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Wauseon Union Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard.

Born June 24, 1912, in Pleasant Township in Henry County, he was the son of Fred and Gertrude (Weber) Zachrich. On Nov. 6, 1932, he married Alma Louise Fouty, who preceded him in death Feb. 14, 2000.
He was owner and operator of the Zachrich Trading Post and also worked at Vocke’s Mill and Bauman Stock Yard and the former High Speed Gas Station, all of Napoleon. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Napoleon.
He is survived by a son, Larry (Diane) of Napoleon; three daughters, Barbara (Jack) D’Angelo of Napoleon, Norma (Dave) Barber Hurst of Wauseon and Joan (Gene) Cutler of Coldwater, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Germaine Hatfield; five brothers, Gib, Vern, Woody, Paul and Darrell; and a sister, Virginia Nye.

Richard “Rocky” H. Weirauch, 82, of Liberty Center died Monday at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
Born March 7, 1925, in Henry County, he was the son of George and Martha (Gebers) Weirauch. On July 20, 1969, he married Sandra Crosser, who survives.
He worked for the City of Napoleon Electrical Department for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a former employee of Walker Mortuary in Napoleon and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member and former deacon of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in McClure, a former member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge #260 of Napoleon and a former den leader for the Boy Scouts Pack #89 of Napoleon.
He is also survived by a son, Anthony of Napoleon; two daughters, Katherine Weasel of Tucson, Ariz., and Christina Saman of Defiance; three brothers, Raymond of Toledo, Donald (Virginia) of Richmond, Mich., and Orville (Jackie) of Napoleon; two sisters, Thelma Wilson of Alvordton, Ohio, and Ruth (August) Schackow of Defiance; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Ann Weirauch; two brothers, Lyal and Lawrence; and a sister, Rose Marie Dominique.

Carl W. Gillingham, 91, of Delta died Monday at Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
Born May 14, 1916, in Bryan, he was the son of William Gillingham and Fern (Dickerson) Gillingham. On Aug. 17, 1940, he married Anna Knapp, who survives.
He worked as a spray painter for Fruehaf Trailer Co. in Toledo. For more than 30 years, he was the “Man Under the Grandstand” at the Fulton County Fair, where he took tickets for the fair events. He was a lifelong member and founder of the Wildwood Bowmen in Delta.
He is also survived by his two sons, Jerry (Betty) of Hillsdale, Mich., and Ronald (Bonnie) of Wauseon; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Gillingham; a brother, Raymond; ; and great-granddaughter, Jessika Gillingham.

Born May 31, 1930, in Wauseon, she was the daughter of Otto and Ruth (Baker) Brodbeck. On March 22, 1947, she married Daryl “Sam” Grime, who preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1999.
She worked at ITT Higbie in Archbold for more than 30 years and since at Sauder Village. She was a volunteer for Fulton County Christmas Cheer, attended First Church of God in Wauseon and was a member of the Archbold American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Sam E. (Mary Anne), Ed J. (Rise) and Mark L. (Melody), all of Archbold; a daughter, Pamela Johnson of Bryan; a brother, Howard “Cy” (Hattie) Brodbeck of Manitou Beach, Mich.; and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Semer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church of God, Wauseon, Pastor Wesley W. Glines officiating. Interment will precede at Johnson Cemetery near Archbold.

She is survived by her step mother, Gavina Salaz of North Baltimore; seven sons, Juan (Christina) Flores of Carey, Ohio, Mike (Yolonda) Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas, Arnie Contreras and Armando Contreras, both of Findlay, Mario Contreras of Hamler and Jesse Contreras and Santos Contreras, both of Deshler; three sisters, Santiaga Carrizales and Maria Pedroza, both of Deshler, and Alisa Martinez of Fostoria; three half sisters, Tina Salaz, Anita Salaz and Martha Salaz; six half brothers, Nick, Jesse, Oscar, Julian, Ramiro and Paul Salaz; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers, Francisco, Pedro and Jose Salaz; and two grandchildren.

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, Dennis Raymond “Chief” Trietsch, Esq., 60, a prominent attorney of Olney, Md., passed away at his vacation home in Hedgesville, W.Va.
He was born in Defiance, Ohio, to Ray and Pauline Trietsch. In Holgate, Ohio, he received his formal education, graduating in 1965, and was a graduate of John Carroll University with a B.A. degree. In Washington, D.C., he received his law degree from American University. He also received schooling from Notre Dame and Corn Avoca Mexico.
He worked for the Federal Government (CPSC, GSA and FTC) for several years prior to retiring and was the Chief Attorney for the Federal Trade Commission during his service. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and formerly an organist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate. A Vietnam veteran, he was a member of the Holgate American Legion William F. Helmke Post #340 and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Veronica Trietsch; adored children Kristen of Washington D.C., Lauren at home and Nicholas of West Virginia; cherished parents Ray and Pauline Trietsch of Holgate; dear granddaughters Kayla and Dana; loving siblings Debra (Eldon) Bostelman of Defiance, Ohio, Denise (Mark) Johnston of Napoleon, Ohio, and David (Brenda) Trietsch of Liberty Center, Ohio; and host of other very special family and friends.
On Monday, Feb. 18, visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, Md. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, 2900 Sandy Spring Road, Olney, Md. Marion W. Meister, 78, of Swanton died Wednesday at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Whitehouse, he was the son of Clyde M. and Ethel (Fisher) Meister. He married Joanne Fay, who survives.
A veteran having served in the U.S Army during the Korean War, he retired from Johns Manville in Waterville after more than 40 years of service. He was an active supporter of 4-H clubs and was on several committees including the Harry Hughes Equestrian. He devoted time to the Lucas County Fair and the metropark in Grand Rapids with the canal boat tours.
He is also survived by a son, Tom of Swanton; three daughters, Jody (Gene) Krise of Waterville, Sally (Shawn) Griffin of Swanton and Michelle Smothers of Sylvania; a brother, Robert (Eleanor); three sisters, Harriet Moore, Susan Bockelman and Audrey Dicks; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin; an infant brother, Rodney; four sisters, Gladis Box, Lillian Snyder, Onnolee Stephens and Josephine Finkenbiner; and a grandchild.
Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Swanton Cemetery at a later date.

Fernando M. Gonzalez, 75, of Napoleon died Thursday at The Toledo Hospital.
Born May 30, 1932, in Mercedes, Texas, he was the son of Manuel and Esiquia (Morado) Gonzalez. On Aug. 18, 1953, he married SanJuana Pena, who survives.
He retired from ConRail Railroad in 1988. He was a Jehovah’s Witness of the Napoleon Spanish Congregation.
He is also survived by five sons, Raul of Chicago and Fernando (Carmen) Jr., Daniel, Miguel and Elias, all of Napoleon; four daughters, Lydia (Charles) Coressel of Defiance, Margarita (Randy) Coleman of McClure, Ninfa (Lee) Starkey of Napoleon and Carmelita (Jesus) Dominguez of Chicago; two brothers, Ramon and Hilario, both of Mercedes; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Serapio, Cruz and Paublo; and a sister, Micaela Rangel.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery of Napoleon.

Sylvia Violette Rellstab, 90, of Holgate and formerly of Yonkers, N.Y., died Thursday.
Born Jan. 29, 1918, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she was the daughter of Lyn and Emilie (Roland) Berbert. On Jan. 25, 1945, she married Theodore J. Rellstab, who preceded her in death June 6, 1993.
She had worked as a secretary in the financial industry in New York City and was a homemaker in her later years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Yonkers, and taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and played in the hand bell choir. She was also a member of the Sunshine Society.
She is survived by a son, Rev. Theodore L. (Deborah) of Holgate; two brothers, Lyn (Elsie) Berbert of Franklin Square, N.Y., and Roy Berbert of Greenville, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Local services will be private. Services will also be held at David J. Hodder & Son Funeral Home in Yonkers. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, N.Y.

Mary C. Kessler, 87, of Colton died Thursday at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
Born April 5, 1920, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Alonzo “John” and Ruth (Jeffers) Barlow. On Feb. 28, 1941, she married Melvin “Tom” Kessler, who preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1984.
She was a cook at the Liberty Center School and had also worked at the McCulley Egg Co. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge #273 and the V.F.W. Wives Club, both in Liberty Center, Colton United Methodist Church and the Tuesday Quilters.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Richard) Rudolph of Napoleon and Sherie (Leonard) Gerken of Boulder City, Nev.; a son, Gerald (Janice) of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; two sisters, Helen Donelly of Colton and Betty Heidtman of Perrysburg; a brother, Leo “Bub” (Shirley) Barlow of Liberty Center; 11 grandchildren; a step grandchild; 20 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Guy and William Barlow; and a sister, Peggy Ann Lambert.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. David MacDonald and Cecily Rohrs officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.

Bernice E. Nagel, 90, of Napoleon died Wednesday at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.
Born July 4, 1917, in Adams Township, Defiance County, she was the daughter of Richard and Adephine (Hasemann) Nagel.
She attended Bowling Green State University and worked and retired as a bookkeeper at Home Oil Co. She was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church in Stryker, where she taught Sunday school and was a choir member. She was also a member of the International Choral Union and the former Lutheran Ladies Literary in Napoleon for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Nagel and LaVerne Nagel; and a brother, Arnold Nagel.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Stryker, Rev. Dale Kern officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour until the time of services Saturday at the church.

Born Feb. 8, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Claire and Kathryn Overy. She married Richard Cialdini, who survives.
She worked nearly 25 years at Microchip Technology, Inc. in Chandler, Ariz.
She is also survived by a sister, Bonnie Bialecki of Swanton; and special friend Lydia (Weaver) Mercier of Casa Grande, Ariz.
Private services were held at her residence in Sun Lakes.

Rufena Rickenberg
March 11, 1917 - Feb. 13, 2008
Rufena Rickenberg, 90, of Dublin, Ohio, and formerly of Deshler died Wednesday at the home she shared with her daughter.
Born March 11, 1917, in Freedom Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of George and Clara (Schroeder) Mahnke. On April 25, 1943, she married Ferdinand Rickenberg, who preceded her in death July 18, 2001.
A homemaker, she worked on the family farm and was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hamler.
She is survived by a son, James (Valerie) of Grand Rapids; three daughters, Donna (Troy) McManus of Marysville, Sheila (Garry) Wiens of St. Charles, Ill., and Janet Rickenberg of Dublin; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, Eldor, George and Alfred Mahnke; and three sisters, Denelda Meyer, Levina Biederstedt and Eleanora Norden.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Rev. Sharon Stonerock officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Bernard “Bernie” Eugene Franks, 84, of Weston died Wednesday at the Bowling Green Manor.
Born Sept. 23, 1923, in Findlay, he was the son Charles and Christina (Apel) Franks. On Oct. 5, 1985, he married Doris B. Amos, who survives.
He worked and retired from the Cooper Tire Co. in Findlay. After retiring, he worked as custodian for Otsego School District and then worked for 18 years in the maintenance department for the Woodland Mall in Bowling Green, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Weston Church of Christ and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is also survived by a step son, Albert Lynn (Lori) Amos of Tulsa, Okla.; two step daughters, Elizabeth (Ed) Johnson of Orlando, Fla., and Gretchen Amos of Coffeyville, Kan.; two brothers, Herbert (Goldie) of Findlay and James of Old Fort, N.C.; a sister, Katie (Don) Phipps of Inverness, Fla.; and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Smith and Goldie Phipps.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Weston Cemetery, Rev. Rick Broughton officiating. Military honors will be accorded by members of the Ohio Army National Guard.
There will be no visitation.

Merle C. Maddock, 94, of Holgate died Tuesday at Golden LivingCenter-Northcrest of Napoleon.
Born June 30, 1913, in Oakwood, he was the son of Arthur and Martha (Schultz) Maddock. On March 14, 1936, he married Ruth Friend, who preceded him in death May 12, 1997.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Holgate and Gideons International. He was employed by the New Bavaria Telephone Co., which later became the Benton Ridge Telephone Co., until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by two sons, Norman (Marilyn) of Arlington, Texas, and Maurice (Marie) of Wauseon; two daughters, Phyllis Aughinbaugh of Goodland, Ind., and Carolyn (Melvin) Kruse of Hillsborough, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Ervin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Alley officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, where she was a past member of the Ladies Guild.
She is also survived by two daughters, Linda (Brian) Lester of Springfield, Va., and Patricia (Douglas) Pastorek of Perrysburg; a brother, Louis (Joyce) Bremer of Deshler; two sisters, Florence Borris of Napoleon and Joyce (Stuart) Baker of Holgate; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; and two sisters, Verna Campey and Iva Spoering.

Calvin Bixler Jr., 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home, following a sudden illness.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; his children, Kenneth (Jayne) Bixler, David (Darrah) Bixler, Judy (Mark) Chavkin, Beverly (Tony) Oommen and Bill (Karen) Bixler; his step children, Patrick (Beth) O’Neill, Kelly (Diana) O’Neill and Kathleen O’Neill; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lois Jean (Art) Germann, Dana (Owen) Beatty, Evelyn (Walter) Cooley and Mary Lou Rettstatt; a brother-in-law, Wendell Newcomb; several nieces and nephews; and his good friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Vivian Newcomb.
Calvin was born Dec. 10, 1929, the son of Calvin and Loah (Koons) Bixler, Sr. in Wauseon, Ohio. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On Dec. 30, 1967, he married Sue O’Neill. Calvin worked in the automotive industry as a wiring engineer. He loved his gardening and birds. Calvin will be dearly missed.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wauseon, Ohio, for family and friends. Pastor Tim Sonnenberg will officiate.

Anita E. Head, 60, of Prospect, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 13, 1947, to the late Burdette and Vivilyn Engler of Napoleon, Ohio. She devoted her life to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Hunting Creek Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Neila Engler Keil.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harry Head; her children, David Head (Kim) and Laura Head Cousins (Steve); four grandchildren whom she adored, Jamie and Megan Cousins and Joshua and Caleb Head; her sister, Cheryl Engler Hicksted (Roger); and brothers Keith Engler (Janet) and Lyndon Engler (Karen).
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Pearson’s Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, Ky., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Mary A. Grabill, 88, of Bowling Green died Monday at Blakely Care Center, Bowling Green.
Born Feb. 12, 1919, in Westerville, she was the daughter of Glenn Grant and Celia (Ihrig) Grabill.
She attended The Ohio State University, majoring in arts and sciences. In the mid 1940s, she turned her family’s backyard chicken coup into a pottery studio called Graylor. She later moved to Martha’s Vineyard, where she studied and made pottery and, in the 1950s, she opened The Sign of the Sandpiper in Coconut Grove, Fla.
She is survived by a brother, Ernie (Pat) Grabill.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Grant Jr. and James Roscoe; and two sisters, Gladys Celia and Dorothy.
Private services will take place in Miami, Fla.

He retired from the former Capital Plastics factory in Bowling Green after 20 years of service. He had also worked at the Grelton Elevator for over five years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #332 of McClure, the Grand Rapids Sportsman Club and the Eagles Lodge of Bowling Green.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Whitney and Elizabeth Miller.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Douglas Corniels officiating. Interment will be private.

Orville H. Graber, 90, of Archbold died Saturday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee.
Born May 29, 1917, in Fulton County near Wauseon, he was the son of Harvey Sr. and Ida (Rupp) Graber. On Feb. 21, 1941, he married Ilva Schultz, who preceded him in death Dec. 8, 2003.
He worked at the former Dinner Bell Packing in Archbold for many years, owned and operated Graber’s Welding and did maintenance service for mobile homes in Florida. He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer runner for Fairlawn Haven. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon and the American Legion B.L.W. Post #311 in Archbold.
He is survived by three sons, Lyle (Alsandra) of Tampa, Fla., David (Susan) of Michigan Center, Mich., and Michael (Sondra) of West Unity; four sisters, Amelia Krauss and Opal Zolman, both of Wauseon, Isadore (Merlin) Oneil of Delta and Doris (Bill) Waite of Wauseon; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Darlene; five brothers, Roy, Harvey Jr., Ralph, Lloyd and Kenneth; and three sisters, Evelyn Rupp, Cecelia Seiler and Lena Simmons.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairlawn Chapel, Pastor Roger Marlow officiating. Interment will follow at Archbold Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by American Legion B.L.W. Post #311.
Visitation will 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Born Oct. 30, 1910, in Monroe Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Delila (Harger) Brown. On Aug. 31, 1925, she married Raymond D. Armbruster, who preceded her in death July 14, 1985.
A homemaker, she was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond J. of Napoleon and Gary L. (Diana) of McClure; three daughters, Norma I. Dickman, Patricia A. Eickhoff and Marcella M. Parish, all of Napoleon; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry L. “Punk”; three brothers, Vernon, Emanuel and Guy Brown; three sisters, Anna Curns, Marie Oelfke and Bertha Morman; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Jane Hillman officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Justin Samuel Reinbolt, 28, of McClure died Tuesday at The Toledo Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1980, in Napoleon, he was the son of Joyce McCafferty Reinbolt of McClure and the late Frederick L. Reinbolt Sr.
He was a laborer for the former Northwest Landscaping of Napoleon. In 1999, he sustained an injury from an auto accident and became a quadriplegic. Following the accident, he became an avid Internet user and a member of clubs supporting the handicapped. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1998 and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He is also survived by a brother, Fred (Tristen) Jr. of McClure; a sister, Alicia (Richard Torres) Reinbolt of Napoleon; and grandparents Shirley Snyder of McClure and Cleo Reinbolt of Napoleon.
He was also preceded in death by grandparents Samuel Reinbolt and James Snyder.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home of McClure, Father Daniel Borgelt officiating, with a luncheon to follow at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in McClure. Interment will be held later at the family’s convenience.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 16, 1920, in Lima, she was the daughter of George and Ruth (Mock) Fanshier. She married Virgil Myers, who preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1999.
A homemaker, she attended Dupont Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by two sons, Chuck Glasco of Missouri and Jim Myers of Elida; three daughters, Nancy Fenner and Linda Risner, both of Oakwood, and Rita McDougle of Hamler; two sisters, Alva and Martha; 27 grandchildren; 37 plus great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma K. Myers; two brothers, Pete and Grover Fanshier; and two sisters, Estelle and Mary.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Dupont Church of the Brethren, Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Interment will be at Cascade Cemetery in Cloverdale.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon. Prior to his retirement, he had worked in construction.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry of Archbold, John of Toledo and Mike of Cleveland; three daughters, Pam (Tom) Marckel of Ottawa Lake, Mich., Jean (Vince) Mancuso of Vaughn, Ontario, Canada, and Krista (Dominic) Lebron of Cleveland; a brother, Fred Sheneman of Wauseon; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Wauseon and Nancy Gaynor of Orlando, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

Gilbert T. Wyant, 95, of Findlay died Tuesday at Fox Run Manor.
Born Feb. 16, 1912, in Leipsic, he was the son of Henry and Anna (Haselman) Wyant. On Sept. 24, 1940, he married Mary Kaufman, who survives.
He worked in the grain elevator business his entire life, retiring after his 90th birthday. During his career, he was the elevator manager in Hamler and Vanlue. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and the Farm Bureau, and was also involved in the Ministry of Praise.
He is also survived by three sons, Eugene and Roger (Nancy), both of Findlay, and Gerald (Pebble) of Marion; three daughters, Angela (Thomas) LaVigne of Hamler, Mary Jane (Kerry) James of Kenton and Margaret (Robert) Hanna of Van Buren; two brothers, Gordon and Junior; three sisters, Virginia Selhorst, Cleopha Gambrel and Imogene Kahle; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ardella Mershman, Carmelita Wyant and his twin, Hildegarde Unterbrink; and two brothers, Donald and Otmer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Father Mike Hohenbrink officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery.

She worked as guidance secretary at Delta Middle School and was a member of Fulton Union Christian Church of Delta, where she organized Bible schools, taught Sunday school and served as church treasurer. She was also a member of the Friends and Family Extension Group.
She is also survived by two sons, Justin (Deanna) of Liberty Center and Joshua of Wauseon; two daughters, Katie Reckner and Kylie Reckner, both of Delta; three brothers, Bob (Connie) Sintobin, Larry (Connie) Sintobin and Dick (Penny) Sintobin, all of Delta; a sister, Nancy (Phil) Warnke of North Carolina; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Abby Jean.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Fulton Union Christian Church, Pastor Rick Puckett officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

He had been a cosmetologist, retiring in December 2007.
Garry is survived by his partner, John Paul Beaubien of Manitou Beach; two brothers, Roy Geahlen Jr. and his wife, Fran, of Liberty Center, Ohio, and Tom Geahlen and his wife, Patty, of Liberty Center; four sisters, Betty Meeks and her husband, Jack, of Liberty Center, Phyllis McCauley of Liberty Center, Alice Gerken and her husband, Gene, of Napoleon, Ohio, and Dianne Blosser of Liberty Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eva June Geahlen.

A. Bruce Moore, 88, of Oakwood died Thursday at his residence.
Born Nov. 2, 1919, in Hicksville, he was the son of I.F. “Frosty” and Maude (Platter) Moore. In 1944, he married M. Imogene Tracy, who preceded him in death in 1996.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served in Northern Ireland aboard the USS Waukesha. He also served in the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan and Tokyo Harbor during the occupation of Japan. He was a 32-year employee of General Motors of Defiance, retiring in 1982, and also delivered ambulances for Braun Industries. He was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop #19 in Oakwood and a life member and past commander of V.F.W. Post #3360 of Defiance. He was also a member of the F&A Masonic Lodge of Continental, the Royal Arch Masons of Defiance, American Legion Post #541 of Continental and the Twin Oaks United Methodist Church of Oakwood.
He is survived by a son, Robert (Peg) of Oakdale, Pa.; a daughter, Patty (Bill) Vance of Paulding; a sister, Virginia Beltz of Hicksville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Powell; a sister, Leila Hannah; and a grandchild.
Services were 11 a.m. today at DenHerder Funeral Home in Paulding, Rev. Michael Brown officiated. Interment was at St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding, with military honors accorded by Defiance V.F.W. Post #3360.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Napoleon Church of the Nazarene and its Womens Ministries.

Harold “Pork” L. Fry, 77, of Defiance died Friday at The Toledo Hospital.
Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Defiance, he was the son of Ralph A. Fry and Lavina Walz. In 1955, he married Bernadine W. Behnfeldt, who survives.
He worked at Johns Manville for 38 years, retiring in 1995, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He also helped farm and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance.
He is also survived by a son, Paul (Everlly) of New Bavaria; a daughter, Mary (Ron) Comden of Defiance; two brothers, Earl and Harry, both of Defiance; two sisters, Edith Brown and Esther Fender, both of Defiance; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance, Rev. David Brobston officiating. Interment will be at Ayersville Cemetery, Defiance County.

James Herbert Buchholz, 68, of Holgate died Saturday at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
Born Nov. 16, 1939, in Ripon, Wis., he was the son of Herbert L. Buchholz of Ripon and the late Alice Emma (Nitz) Buchholz. On May 13, 1961, he married Hazel Bunt, who also survives.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Holgate, Ripon V.F.W. and the William F. Helmke American Legion Post #340. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving with the United States Marine Corps. for 26 1/2 years, and was a consultant for OHM Corp, Findlay, and then a self-employed consultant.
He is also survived by a son, James B. (Cathy) of Holgate; a daughter, Theresa (James) Miller of Kennisaw, Ga.; a sister, Joann (Melvin) Ingram; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Tamera Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Born Sept. 19, 1910, in Henry County, she was the daughter of David and Anna (Gilgenbaugh) Spangler. On Oct. 11, 1945, she married Victor Miller, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1987.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a bookkeeper for the former Roger Miller Ford in Wauseon. She attended Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon.
She is survived by a daughter, Cora (Wendell) Wood of Wauseon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rita McKibben; and a brother, Leonard Spangler.
Services will be private. Interment will be at Wauseon Union Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
