Brandon Morris

An Archbold man appeared by video in Napoleon Municipal Court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Brandon Morris, 22, appeared with counsel and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The matter was ordered to be bound over to the Court of Common Pleas of Henry County for further proceedings. Bond was continued at $250,000.

According to Henry County Sheriff Michael Bodenbender, the sheriff’s office responded to a 9-1-1 call at 12:19 a.m. Jan. 4 from a Ridgeville Township resident who advised a male subject entered their home through a back door but fled on foot before deputies arrived. A search was conducted along with officers from Archbold Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Information on a suspect was received and a search warrant was served Jan. 5 at the residence of Morris. According to Bodenbender, evidence from the crime scene was found at the home that connected Morris to the burglary and Morris was arrested and transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
