The Maumee Valley Civic Theater will host a free movie night Friday, July 10, starting at 8 p.m. on the front lawn of the Napoleon Civic Center.

The featured movie will be “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. The movie night coincides with the organizations’ production of Willy Wonka, July 23-26.

Attendees should bring their own seating, and a free-will donation will also be accepted.

Social distancing will be encouraged while viewing the movie, and face masks are suggested but not required.

The Napoleon Civic Center (formerly Central Elementary and Napoleon Middle School) is located at 303 W. Main St.

The organization is also seeking backstage volunteers for the upcoming production July 23-26. The commitment begins July 6 and runs through the end of the show. Volunteers will need to be available for every rehearsal, which is typically Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. A schedule can be sent upon inquiry.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping ensure props, costumes, set pieces and actors are ready, moving set pieces on and off stage and help with grounds work.

Those interested in volunteering can inquire with a message on the “Maumee Valley Civic Theater” Facebook page.
