BLANCHARD TOWNSHIP — The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported it is investigating a Friday accident that claimed the life of an Ottawa woman.

The post reported Angela L. Schumaker, 39, of Ottawa was eastbound on U.S. Route 224 near County Road 5 in Putnam County at approximately 7:13 a.m. It was reported a westbound vehicle operated by Trevor J. Gerten, 16, of Leipsic traveled left of center and struck Schumaker’s vehicle head-on.

Schumaker’s vehicle came to rest on the south side of the roadway, and Gerten’s came to rest in the middle of the roadway. It was reported, moments later, a westbound vehicle operated by Richard D. Greene, 51, of Toledo, struck Gerten’s vehicle.
