ARCHBOLD — The Four County Career Center Board of Education recently approved several personnel matters, including hiring a dean of students.

David DeLano was approved as dean of students, effective Aug. 12. He replaces Tim Bowers, who recently accepted a supervisor’s position.

In other personnel matters, Jim Rettig, Carol Singer and Kathy Curlis were approved as bus drivers for the 2019-20 school year.

The board also approved supplemental contracts for the following: Lauren Helberg, Julie Mangas and Morgan Weber, Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) members for the 2019-20 school year; Denton Blue, bus maintenance as needed; and Marijene Tomlinson as LPDC secretary for the 2019-20 school year.

The board also:

•Approved insurance coverage with Wright Specialty/Markel Corp. through USI Insurance Services National, Inc.

•Approved temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2020.

•Approved Family Medical Leave Act approval for Kristen Boyer and Hannah Glore.

•Approved 2019-20 Adult Education employment and hourly rates.

•Accepted the following donations: 213 sheets and towels valued at $1,278 and seven luxury duvets valued at $350 from the general manager at Hampton Inn in Defiance for training purposes for the hospitality program; $650 from Denise Drenning for the Baumgartner/Bandy Scholarship; $164 from an anonymous donor to the Drug Free Clubs of America; $570 from the Bryan Rotary Club (silver membership) to the Drug Free Clubs of America; $285 from Hicksville Rotary Club to the Drug Free Clubs of America; and $73.23 from Cooper Farms to Adult Education.

The board’s next regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. July 18 in the multi-purpose room at Four County Career Center.
