HOLGATE — With students unable to travel to their school buildings for the past couple of months, the Holgate community recently brought the school to the district’s graduating seniors.

The effort, organized by teacher Jamie Huber with Holgate Local Schools and the community, arranged for an honor parade Sunday that started in the parking lot of the school and then traveled to each senior’s home. Led by a district school bus sporting a balloon display of “20” and a school flag, the lineup driving through the community also included volunteers driving emergency response vehicles and a representative of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

As the parade approached the seniors’ homes, they received a yard sign and other gifts, along with cheering and horn honking from the parade of vehicles.
