Enrollment for this year’s Henry County 4-H Program is currently open.
Ohio 4-H membership is based on age and grade as of Jan. 1 of the current year. For 4-H, members must be in third grade and 8 years old or 9 years old as of Jan. 1. For Cloverbuds, members must be in kindergarten and 5 years old as of Jan. 1.
Morgan Parcher, Henry County Ohio State University Extension, 4-H Youth Development Extension educator, explained 4-H teaches life skills that can be applied beyond the classroom.
“(It) gives them a community and network of kids outside of their schools and provides hands-on learning opportunities and education,” Parcher said, adding there are more than 150 projects available for members. “It ranges anywhere from animals to athletics, sports and nutrition and clothing — everything and anything in between.”
Henry County’s enrollment deadline is March 15. For more information or to sign up, call the Henry County OSU Extension Office at 419-592-0806.
