OAKWOOD — One individual was reported deceased following a shooting Saturday in Paulding County.
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release stating deputies were dispatched to a residence on Road 187 at 2:48 a.m. for a drive-by shooting. Early in the investigation, it was determined a drive-by did not occur, but Anthony J. Richcreek, 28, had sustained injuries resulting from being shot in the chest.
Richcreek was transported to the Pauling County Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The press release states deputies allege he was shot by his brother, Donald J. Richcreek, and the two individuals reside at the same Road 187 address. Donald Richcreek was charged with murder, an unclassified felony, and transported to the Paulding County Jail.
A video arraignment with Paulding County Court was scheduled for this morning on the charge. The investigation is ongoing, but the sheriff’s office reported no further information is expected to be released at this time.
