WAUSEON — The Wauseon Exempted Village Schools Board of Education Monday approved the intent to hire Troy Armstrong as its next superintendent, effective Aug. 1.
The board also amended the effective date of the resignation of current superintendent Larry Brown. His resignation will now be effective July 31 instead of Dec. 31.
In other personnel matters, the board accepted two resignations, one from Michelle Winters, middle school intervention specialist, effective June 1, and the other from Joy Beck, elementary school intervention specialist, effective June 16.
A one-year teaching contract was issued to Anna Vogelgesang as the elementary school music teacher for the 2019-20 school year. Amber Zuidema was reassigned from an elementary/middle school two-hour cook to the elementary/middle school head cook, effective Aug. 14.
One-year classified contracts were approved for McKayla Pettit, primary school teacher aide, and Mallorie Hannon, primary school two-hour cook, both for the 2019-20 school year.
A one-year athletic supplemental contract was approved for Mike Marshall as the head girls golf coach for the 2019-20 school year.
The board also:
•Approved the purchase of property/fleet/liability/excess liability insurance from Hylant Administrative Services of Toledo, effective July 1. Costs include $43,315 for property; $12,626 for fleet; and $10,670 for liability, violence, cyber and pollution.
•Approved bus drivers Kevin Bechtel, Butch Kline, Sabrina Hartson and Heidi Klingensmith as summer bus lot workers, retroactive to May 31, and Chis Yackee, effective June 18.
•Approved Alex Stevens as a student worker for bus lot summer work, effective June 18, and Trenton Sauber as a summer student custodial worker, retroactive to May 30.
•Approved Julian Delgado as a volunteer boys soccer coach for the 2019-20 school year.
•Entered into an agreement with Healthcare Processing, Inc. for fiscal year 2020 Medicaid and indirect costs processing at a cost of $2,500.
•Entered into an executive session for the discussion of employment of personnel. No action was taken.
The next regular board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. July 8.
