LIBERTY TOWNSHIP — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reported a Tuesday evening crash injured six and resulted in two vehicles striking a former schoolhouse building.
The office reported Lesley A. Carter, 17, of Defiance was southbound on County Road 10 at 6:51 p.m. and failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of County Road V. Carter’s car went into the path of an SUV eastbound on Road V operated by Brenda J. Kruse, 42, of Napoleon, resulting in Kruse’s vehicle striking the passenger side of Carter’s vehicle.
Both vehicles went off the southeast side of the intersection and struck an unoccupied brick building.
Carter was reported to have incapacitating injuries and was transported to Fulton County Health Center by Delta Rescue. Kruse was reported to have non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to Henry County Hospital by Liberty Rescue.
It was reported four passengers in Carter’s vehicle were also injured. Carlina R. Dotson, 18, of Stryker had incapacitating injuries and was transported to St. Vincent Medical Center by air ambulance. A 16-year-old female passenger had non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to Toledo Children’s Hospital by Napoleon Rescue, a 16-year-old male passenger had incapacitating injuries and was transported to Henry County Hospital by Liberty Rescue, and a 17-year-old female passenger had incapacitating injuries and was transported to Toledo Hospital by Delta ALS 2.
No passengers in Kruse’s vehicle were reported to be injured.
Damage to both vehicles was disabling.
No further information was available as of press time as the crash remains under investigation.
