Malinta Fest

The Malinta Fest Committee has planned this year’s festival for Saturday at the Monroe Township Fire Department. MALINTA — Malinta Fest will recognize its 17th year with its 2019 event scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Monroe Township Fire Station.

The fire station is located at 8931 County Road K2.

The event will feature a River City Rodder Car Show and local Flea Market.

Malinta Fest welcomes all car enthusiasts and vendors. Free registration for the car show begins at 9 a.m., with awards presented at 3:30 p.m.

Free vendor spots are available outside of the firehouse in exchange for a product donation for the auction. For more information, call Lynn at 419-966-9909.

The musical entertainment will be Crickett & Ruben — ‘60s and ‘70s classic rock to modern day pop music.

Beginning at 11 a.m. the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department will serve its barbecue chicken, along with bratwurst, hotdogs and sides. Carryouts are also available. Maria’s Snack Shack Taco Wagon and Yummy Treats Ice Cream Truck will also serve during the event.

A bounce house and obstacle course run by the Grelton Bluebirds & Livestock 4-H Group will be available for children. Also on site will be a dunk tank supporting Cabana Crew Relay For Life, a face-painting station, pedal tractor pull run by Patrick Henry Young Farmers, Patrick Henry High School, a barrel train and wagon ride. The rides will feature Harry Dunn and crew ushering people around town and to the Malinta Historical Society’s Train Depot tour.

The event will also feature 50/50 drawings, raffle drawings and a live auction available through donations from local businesses. Prizes will include a Sauder Heritage Inn overnight stay with admission to the village, a one-night stay at Belmere Suites in Perrysburg, a six-person VIP pass to African Safari Wildlife Park, four tickets to Imagination Station, four tickets to a Mud Hen game and Henry County Fair passes.
