Nearly 40 businesses seeking employees will be set up Friday at the Henry County Fairgrounds for a job fair.

Henry County Community Improvement Corp. Executive Director Jennifer Arps Wednesday said there are 39 companies scheduled to attend the job fair, including nine which are located outside of Henry County.

“When we discussed having this, I thought 10, maybe 15 companies would sign up since we’ve never done one since I’ve been with the CIC, so to have this many, I’m happy to see this participation,” Arps said.

The companies attending the fair represent a variety of industries, including manufacturing, food service, health care, construction and banking, as well as county and school positions. Arps said the fair is being advertised in a variety of ways.

“We’re hoping for a good turnout,” Arps said. “That seems to be the struggle with anything right now is jobs are there, just no one is applying.”

The job fair is provided by Henry County Community Improvement Corp., Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Ohio Means Jobs and will take place at the south merchants building from noon-4 p.m. Friday. A food truck will also be on site.
