Bryan Gonzalez

A report of a masked man in Walmart Friday morning led to the arrest of a Napoleon man.

According to the Napoleon Police Department, they were advised at 9:02 a.m. of a suspicious person wearing a mask who entered Walmart on Scott Street and officers responded to the store.

Henry County Sheriff Michael Bodenbender first made contact with the suspect, who was reportedly still wearing the mask and carrying a backpack. The department reported the suspect refused to follow commands and physically resisted when Bodenbender attempted to take the suspect into custody, but he was taken into custody by Bodenbender and members of the Napoleon Police Department.

Bryan Gonzalez, 33, of Napoleon was charged with obstruction of official business and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio to await an appearance in Napoleon Municipal Court.

The department reported Gonzalez was found to be unarmed and there is no continued threat to the community.
