DOVER TOWNSHIP — Two individuals were killed Wednesday evening in a crash on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a semi was traveling westbound in the right lane on Interstate Route 80 at milepost 34.3 at approximately 10:50 p.m. when it was struck in the rear by a van, which became lodged underneath the trailer. The semi pulled off the north side of the road.

The driver of the van, Krzysztof M. Augustnyski, 44, of Chicago, and his passenger, Lukasz Pasierbowicz, 40, of Chicago, both suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

The driver of the semi, Amadou Diarra, 52, of Laramie, Wyoming, was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were Wauseon Fire/EMS, Morenci Fire and Rescue and Ohio Turnpike Maintenance.

The crash remains under investigation.
