The Henry County commissioners Tuesday awarded bids for 2021 stone for the Henry County Highway Department.

Three bids were received for the aggregate in various stone sizes, including sand and super berm. Bids were submitted by The Custar Stone Co., Hanson Aggregates Midwest and All Ohio Ready Mix, Stoneco-Portage.

The bid was awarded to all three bidders, and the companies will be awarded contracts based on their unit price bids. Actual purchases will be based on unit bid prices, terms of purchase, location of project, availability of gradation, type of material desired for a particular application, cost of transportation, quality of product and type of surface desired.

In other matters, the commissioners:

•Approved the annual Henry County highway mileage certification to show that there are 405.282 miles that the county maintains.

•Approved Commissioner Glenn Miller for membership voting for the County Commissioners Association of Ohio. Commissioner Bob Hastedt is the alternate.

Thursday’s agenda includes Henry County Treasurer Lisa Spiess at 9:30 a.m. for a quarterly report and Laura Rohlf at 10 a.m. for a Henry County OSU Extension update.
