The Henry County commissioners Tuesday awarded the bids for the 2018 resurfacing and widening programs.

The bid for the resurfacing projects was awarded to Helms & Sons Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $629,825.53.

The Findlay company submitted the lowest bid on the project, which was estimated at $668,600. One other bid was submitted, and that was Gerken Paving in Napoleon with $663,082.30.

The bid award for the widening projects went to Henry Bergman Co. in Genoa in the amount of $510,090.

The company submitted the lowest bid for the projects, which had an engineer’s estimate of $550,000. One other bid was submitted and that was from Gerken Paving in Napoleon for $536,932.25.

The commissioners also held an executive session regarding security. No action was taken following the session.

The agenda for today includes Henry County Assistant Prosecutor Katie Nelson at 9 a.m. for a legal update; Henry County Solid Waste Management District Coordinator Mike Imbrock at 10:30 a.m. for an update; and an executive session at 11:15 a.m. for the compensation of personnel.
