HOLGATE — The Holgate Local Schools Board of Education Monday reviewed multiple handbook updates.
The board completed a reading and approval of:
•The Student Athletic Handbook for the 2020-21 school year.
•The Athletic Coaches’ Handbook for the 2020-21 school year.
•The middle school and high school student handbook changes and corrections for the 2020-21 school year.
•The Elementary Teacher Handbook changes and corrections for the 2020-21 school year.
•The middle school and high school teacher handbook changes and corrections for the 2020-21 school year.
The board also:
•Recognized Rylie Schuller as Class of 2020 valedictorian. Schuller graduates with a 4.0 GPA, earned 14 varsity letters in athletics and will attend The Ohio State University.
•Recognized Lauren Okuley as Class of 2020 salutatorian. Okuley graduates with a 3.98 GPA and earned a Presidential Scholarship to attend Northwest State Community College.
•Approved the service agreement with Healthcare Process Consulting, Inc. for the school medicaid program in the amount of $2,500.00 for services beginning July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021.
•Approved the resolution authorizing continued membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) for the 2020-21 school year.
•Approved the school district lunch prices for the 2020-21 school year at the following price rates — Grades K-5 — $2.60, Grades 6-8 — $2.65, Grades 9-12 — $2.70, Adult Lunch — $3.50.
•Approved the Blizzard Bag Resolution for the 2020-21 school year.
•Recognized and accepted the donation of $350 from the Holgate Lions Club.
•Approved the memorandum of understanding for the COVID-19 evaluation process with the Holgate Teachers’ Association.
•Resolved to administer the English Language Arts and Mathematics assessment in a paper format for third grade students during the 2020-21 school year.
