The Napoleon Police Department has issued an update to a drug-related arrest it made last week.
On Jan. 16, following a suspicious person call, officers arrested Jonathan Meek, 33, of Fort Wayne, Corey Witsman, 31, of Toledo, and Jayme Etheridge, 33, of Fremont, Indiana, on drug paraphernalia charges. Powdery substances were found and sent to be tested.
Following the tests, it was determined the substances were cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl.
Meek has additionally been charged with possession of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl. Witsman and Etheridge have been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The three individuals all appeared in Napoleon Municipal Court Thursday.
Meek and Etheridge made initial appearances by video. Meek appeared on three charges of possession of drugs and Etheridge on one charge of possession of drugs, each a fifth-degree felony.
Both Meek and Etheridge requested court-appointed counsel, and the court determined they qualified. Both also had an appearance bond set in the amount of $15,000 with 10% allowed under the condition they consume no illicit drugs, submit to random drug screening and continue treatment.
Meek will return for a full preliminary hearing at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 30, and Etheridge will return for a full preliminary hearing at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 30.
WItsman appeared for a full preliminary hearing on his charges and waived his right to the hearing. He appeared Thursday on three charges of possession of drugs, two a fifth-degree felony and one a first-degree misdemeanor.
The matter will be bound over to the Court of Common Pleas of Henry County for further proceedings. Bond was continued as previously set.
