Four finalists have been selected, and votes can be cast for the name of the new bridge near Napoleon over the Maumee River.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reported 97 submissions for potential names were made, and four were selected for the public to vote on. The public can vote for their choice through Friday by visiting odot.formstack.com/forms/henry_county_bridge_final_vote.

The four choices are:

•Frontline Workers Bridge: Dedicated to all Henry County front-line workers such as police, fire, EMS, healthcare, road and construction, supply chain workers and all who continued moving the nation forward throughout the pandemic.

•Perseverance and Courage Bridge: Dedicated to all Henry County front-line workers such as police, fire, EMS, healthcare, road and construction and supply chain workers, and all who continued moving the nation forward throughout the pandemic.

•Liberty Bridge: In dedication to the county’s namesake, Patrick Henry, and his famous words, “Give me liberty or give me death.”

•American Freedom Bridge: Honoring the sacrifices of the United States Military, for the freedoms enjoyed in the nation.

As of Friday, 922 votes had been cast in the contest.
