Our school year is off and running. I want to thank all of our students, staff, community and parents for their assistance in getting the year started. I look forward to a great year at Patrick Henry Local Schools.

Patrick Henry Local Schools would like to welcome all of our new employees this year. In advance, I would like to thank them for their commitment to our school district and the students.

At the high school we welcome Kaitlyn Wyse, Brett Ziegler and Justin Sonnenberg. Kaitlyn is a graduate of The Ohio University and recently finished her student teaching in Ireland. Kaitlyn teaches high school English and is looking forward to becoming a part of the great PH community.

Brett Ziegler comes to PH to teach high school math. Brett is a Patrick Henry graduate that looks forward to being a Patriot again.

The final addition to the high school teaching staff is Justin Sonnenberg. Justin teaches high school and middle school science. Additionally, Justin is our new girls basketball head coach.

Our middle school welcomes three new employees this year.

Kaylene Atkinson is our new middle school principal. She lives in rural McClure and is looking forward to developing relationships with our students, staff and community.

Brett Yungmann is a new math teacher in our middle school. He reports that he looks forward to teaching in his true passion area of junior high mathematics.

Additionally, we would like to welcome Madison Stechschulte to Patrick Henry. Madison teaches fifth grade, and she reports she looks forward to working in the positive environment at PH.

Patrick Henry Elementary welcomes one new staff member this year, Michaela Haugen. We had the great fortune of having Michaela with us last year as a student teacher and now she is working with us full time. Michaela is an intervention specialist. She reports that she is excited to see her students grow throughout the year.

Our cafeteria welcomes three new employees this school year. Firstly, Patrick Henry Local Schools welcomes our new Food Service Coordinator, Katie Yarnell. Katie lives in Deshler with her family and is excited to be a part of food services in a school setting. Believe it or not, in the 50 years of Patrick Henry history, Katie is only the third Food Service Coordinator. Patrick Henry Local Schools thanks Connie Punches for her many years of service and wishes her a great retirement.

Additionally, we welcome Leslie Engel and Carol Spurgeon as members of our cafeteria team. Both Leslie and Carol report that they are excited to be part of the PH team and look forward to a great year.

I am thankful for all of these new employees along with our current employees. People are what make the difference. I believe the people we have working at Patrick Henry are what make us what we are.
