First graders receive reading buddies

Jen Burkhart at Napoleon Elementary School reported having donations of Beanie Babies from friends and using them as gifts for her first-grade students. The students were able to pick out their own animal, fill out an adoption certificate, and then were encouraged to read to them while at home.
