Police memorial ceremony

A Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony was held Friday by the Henry County Courthouse. Among those attending were officers from the Napoleon Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, police training cadets and officers from the Hilliard Police Department. The event honored local and national law enforcement personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, and is part of Police Memorial week and month. At bottom left, Henry County Sheriff Michael Bodenbender discussed the deaths of former Henry County Sheriff Peter Reichert and Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Welton McGill, who were killed in the line of duty in 1917, and, at bottom right, Napoleon Police Chief David Mack discussed Napoleon Officer Clark Teeple, who was recently commemorated at the state and national level after being killed in the line of duty in 1931. A distant relative of Teeple’s was also on hand for the ceremony
