A hit-skip accident was reported after a vehicle struck a mailbox at 1753 Oakwood Ave. at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday.

A private property accident was reported at 1406 Scott St. at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday. No further information was available as of press time.

A private property accident was reported at 905 American Road at 8:49 a.m. Thursday. No further information was available as of press time.

A hit-skip, private property accident was reported at Walmart at 5:31 p.m. Thursday.

•Christopher Cannode, 22, of Napoleon, with misdemeanor assault, unlawful restraint and menacing, Meekison Street, 1:54 p.m. Thursday, transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.


•Charles Harris III, 24, of Holgate, warrant for failure to appear, directly at the police department, 5:08 p.m. Wednesday, bond posted.

Henry County Sheriff’s Office


Randy A. Rosebrock, 63, of Napoleon was northbound on State Route 108 in Freedom Township at 4:53 p.m. Thursday, waiting for southbound traffic to clear so he could turn onto County Road U. Quentin E. Short, 17, of Wauseon was passing vehicles while approaching the intersection. A vehicle began turning off County Road U onto Rte. 108, and it was reported Short swerved and rear-ended Rosebrock’s vehicle to avoid a head-on collision. No injuries were reported. Minor damage was reported to Short’s vehicle, and no damage was reported to Rosebrock’s vehicle. Short was cited for a left of center violation.

Nicole L. Wendt, 44, of Napoleon was westbound on Rte. 24 near mile marker 45 in Liberty Township at 5:42 p.m. Thursday when a deer ran into her vehicle. Wendt was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was functional.

Nathanael L. Armstrong, 35, of Defiance was northbound on State Route 66 near Township Road U1 in Ridgeville Township at 6:20 a.m. Friday when his vehicle struck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Armstrong was not injured, and damage to his vehicle was minor.
