Accident:

Candy S. Sulser, 50, of Defiance and Adalena E. Gonzales, 19, of Napoleon were both northbound on Perry Street at 3:47 p.m. Oct. 5. An unknown motorist was southbound on Perry Street and it was reported the motorist attempted an improper left turn onto East Front Street, as signage is posted stating there are no left turns for southbound traffic on Perry Street. This turn caused Sulser to apply their brakes to avoid a collision, but Gonzales was unable to stop her vehicle in time before rear-ending Sulser’s vehicle. Sulser had non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to Henry County Hospital by Napoleon Fire and Rescue. Gonzales was not injured. Damage to the vehicles on scene was minor.(Crash report from Ohio Department of Public Safety’s crash system.)

•Breanna Williams, 23, residence not reported, warrant, County Road D near Route 108, 9:21 p.m. Wednesday, transported to Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio; CCNO online records indicate Williams was being held on a charge of failure to appear.

•James Cox, 45, of Napoleon, Napoleon Municipal Court summons for return and payment of income tax, directly at the police department, 10:21 p.m. Thursday.

•Driving complaint, Derome Drive near Northcrest Drive, 3:56 p.m. Thursday, nothing further reported.

•Suspicious person, Haley Avenue, 4:37 a.m. Friday, unable to locate.

Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Accidents:

Kijano S. Vasquez-Hill, 17, of Malinta was westbound on U.S. Route 6 near County Road 15 in Napoleon Township at 8:30 a.m. Thursday when it was reported the vehicle hydroplaned and went off the roadway on the right side. The vehicle then went through a fence and came to rest on County Road 15. Vasquez-Hill was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was minor.

Barbara Geahlen, 39, of Napoleon was westbound on County Road N near County Road 6A in Richfield Township at 7:31 p.m. Thursday when it was reported her vehicle struck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Geahlen was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was minor.

Alana R. Baxter, 19, of Findlay was southbound on County Road 424 near State Route 109 in Liberty Township at 8:49 p.m. Thursday when it was reported her vehicle struck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Baxter was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was minor.

Stanwyn J. Short, 54, of Archbold was westbound on U.S. Route 6 near County Road 15A at 7:05 a.m. Friday when it was reported his vehicle struck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Short was not injured, and damage to his vehicle was functional.

David M.J. Ellis, 16, of Napoleon was westbound on Rte. 6 near County Road 20 in Ridgeville Township at 8:31 a.m. Friday and slowed to make a right-hand turn into a private drive. Ronald A. Richard, 54, of McClure was also westbound on Rte. 6, and it was reported he failed to Ellis’ vehicle slowing down, resulting in a rear-end collision. No injuries were reported, and damage to both vehicles was minor. Richard was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Timothy A. Frank, 52, of Holgate was westbound on County Road H at 10:32 a.m. Friday and began turning into a parking lot. It was reported Nikki L. Saldivar, 20, of Holgate was also westbound and struck Frank’s vehicle as it was turning. No injuries were reported. No damage was reported to Frank’s vehicle, and damage to Saldivar’s vehicle was minor. Saldivar was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Charged:

•Jason Ramsay, 42, of McClure, for drug abuse and resisting arrest, Carl Street in McClure, 10:58 p.m. Wednesday, transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.

•Tera Nichols, 34, of Ney, warrant out of Williams County, East Washington Street, 3:42 p.m. Thursday.

Also reported to the sheriff’s office:

•Theft of a golf cart charger, 3-830 State Route 65 #75, 7:59 p.m. Wednesday.

•Trespassing, Township Road U near Count Road 8, 1:22 a.m. Thursday, all reported to be okay.

•ATV complaint, County Road 3 near County Road V, 9:44 p.m. Thursday, all reported to be okay.
