Isaiah T. Paniagua, 28, of Deshler made an initial appearance by video Monday on one count of abduction, a felony of the third degree.
The defendant requested court-appointed counsel and the court determined he qualified.
An appearance bond was set in the amount of $25,000 under the condition he obey a protection order. Paniagua was further ordered to turn in firearms to the sheriff’s office upon his release from the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio to be held during the pendency of the case. The defendant was also allowed a one-time opportunity to gather personal items under the escort of the Deshler Police Department.
The matter was ordered to continue with a preliminary hearing at Dec. 5 at 1:45 p.m.
