Accidents:

Leighann N. Miller, 20, of Hamler was southbound on State Route 108 near U.S. Route 6 in Napoleon Township at 7:10 p.m. Jan. 27 when her vehicle stuck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Geoffrey T. Yenser, 39, of Defiance was slowing on Independence Road at 6:59 a.m. Jan. 28 to make a right turn. It was reported Melynda J. Orta, 18, of Napoleon was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Yenser’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to Orta’s vehicle was disabling, and damage to Yenser’s vehicle was minor. A private property accident was reported on Lagrange Street at 6:49 p.m. Wednesday.

A two-vehicle, non-injury accident was reported in the 1200 block of Scott Street at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday.

A hit-skip accident was reported on Industrial Drive near U.S. Route 24 at 10:10 p.m. Thursday.

A two-vehicle, non-injury private property accident was reported at JAC Productions at 3:10 p.m. Friday.

•Eli Hood, 18, of McClure, summons for disorderly conduct, Briarheath Avenue, 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

•Adam Bauer, 35, of Defiance, warrant, County Road 17C near Rte. 24, 4:04 p.m. Thursday, transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio; CCNO online records indicate Bauer is being held for failure to appear.

•Disorderly conduct, Lagrange Street, 2:30 p.m. Thursday, warning issued.

•Semi blocking roadway, Glenwood Avenue at city limits, 7:14 p.m. Thursday, unable to locate.

•Suspicious vehicle, Meyerholtz Park, 8:55 p.m. Thursday, unable to locate.

•Snow removal violations were addressed on Appian Avenue, East Maumee Avenue, Stevenson Street, Carey Street, West Main Street, Carey Street, West Main Street, Scott Street, West Washington Street, West Clinton Street, starting at 12:03 p.m. Friday.

•Disabled vehicle, Westmoreland Avenue, 12:49 p.m. Friday, vehicle towed.

•Theft, Pilot, 1:29 p.m. Friday, pending investigation.

•Theft of medication, 428 S. Perry St. Unit #5, 4:16 p.m. Friday, pending investigation.

Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Accidents:

Benjamin J. Ruder, 17, of McClure was eastbound on U.S. Route 6 near County Road 7 in Damascus Township at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday when it was reported his vehicle slid on the snow-covered roadway and went off the south side of the roadway. Ruder was not injured, and damage to his vehicle was minor.

Rosealee Reed, 83, of Napoleon was southbound on State Route 108 near County Road S in Napoleon Township at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday when it was reported she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. Reed was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was functional.

Steven A. Rochefort, 30, of Liberty Center was southbound on Mill Street in Liberty Center at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday. It was reported Rochefort traveled left of center, off the east side of the roadway and struck a fire hydrant at the corner of Mill and Mary Ann streets. The report stated Rochefort left the scene and was later located. Rochefort was not injured, and damage to his vehicle was functional. Rochefort was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

Chase M. Simons, 19, of Holgate was northbound on County Road 14 near State Route 281 in Flatrock Township at 7:47 a.m. Thursday when it was reported he lost control of his vehicle on the snow- and ice-covered roadway. His vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and overturned into a ditch. Simons had non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to Henry County Hospital by Holgate EMS. Damage to his vehicle was disabling.

David V. Hull, 56, of Continental was northbound on County Road 12 near County Road P3 in Harrison Township at 2:29 p.m. Thursday. It was reported a snow plow had been clearing a private lot in the area, and Hull’s vehicle struck a large clump of snow/ice that was pushed onto the roadway. Damage to Hull’s vehicle was functional.

Nicole M. Ritz, 41, of Napoleon was eastbound on County Road N near County Road 17 in Napoleon Township at 7:11 p.m. Thursday when it was reported her vehicle slid on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle then went into a surface ditch. It was reported Ritz attempted to drive out of the surface ditch, when the vehicle caught fire. Ritz was not injured.

Erin R. Crandall, 34, of Napoleon was northbound on County Road 16 near Rte. 6 in Napoleon Township at 4:36 a.m. Friday when it was reported her vehicle went off the roadway due to poor roadway conditions and struck a mailbox. Crandall was not injured, and damage to her vehicle was minor.

Bradley C. Kurtz, 43, of Napoleon was eastbound on County Road K near County Road 11B in Monroe Township at 10:53 a.m. Friday when it was reported he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle spun around, went off the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole and cable box. Kurtz was not injured, and damage to his vehicle was functional.

•Robert Thatcher Jr., 61, of Swanton, with aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct and driving while under the influence, following the report of a suspicious vehicle, Township Road T3 near County Road 1, 7:46 p.m. Thursday, transported to CCNO.
