William L. Roth, 57, of McClure appeared by video Wednesday for an initial appearance on one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

Roth requested and was granted court-appointed counsel. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:45 p.m. today.

Bond was set at $100,000 under the condition he check in with the court’s bailiff once a week in person to verify whereabouts.

Justin R. Schwable, 31, of Napoleon appeared by video Wednesday for an initial appearance on one count of aggravated menacing, a fifth-degree felony.

Schwable indicated he would hire his own attorney. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:15 p.m. Aug. 22.

Bond was set at $15,000, with 10% allowed, under the condition he check in with the court’s bailiff once a week in person to verify whereabouts.
