BOWLING GREEN — A suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle out of Michigan was injured when he crashed the vehicle during a chase with the Ohio Highway State Patrol Saturday night.
Sgt. Matt Geer of the Bowling Green Post of the Patrol said the chase began around 6 p.m. following an attempted stop for speeding near milepost 182 on U.S. Highway 75.
Dylan Reeves, age and address unknown, failed to stop and exited the highway at the U.S. 6 off ramp. He then traveled into Henry County near McClure.
Deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office deployed road spikes around County Road 7 to slow Reeve’s vehicle. After running over the spikes, which Geer said are designed to slowly release air from the tires, Reeves lost control of the vehicle and overturned the vehicle.
Reeves was ejected during the crash, though Geer said he was alert and talking to officials on scene before being taken by air ambulance to an area hospital.
It was later discovered the vehicle driven by Reeves had been stolen out of Michigan. Reeves is charged with a felony count of failure to comply with an order of an officer, receiving stolen property, felony possession of drugs and driving under the influence.
