LC edges BG

BOWLING GREEN — Liberty Center's girls soccer team netted three second-half goals in rallying past Bowling Green for a 3-2 non-league win Monday.

Carly Roth buried the Lady Tigers' first goal to knot the score at 1-all early into the second half before Alyssa Giesige had a strong finish to tie the game at 2-all minutes later.

Giesige assisted on the go-ahead goal as Peyton Armey pushed LC ahead 3-2 on a shot near the frame. The Lady Tigers finished with 12 shots on goal.

Liberty Center keeper Tarryn Hollenbaugh made five saves.

The Lady Tigers host Delta at 7 p.m. Thursday to conclude its regular season. LC travels to Archbold Tuesday at 5 p.m. to open tournament play. The two schools played to a scoreless draw on Sept. 30.

Lady Streaks lose

ARCHBOLD — Archbold's girls soccer team was held scoreless in consecutive games for the first time this season after a 1-0 loss against Toledo Central Catholic Monday night.

The Lady Streaks moved to 6-8-2 overall and will play its final regular season game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ottawa Hills.

Archbold opens tournament play Tuesday at 5 p.m., when it hosts Liberty Center. The two schools played to a scoreless draw on Sept. 30.

Northview tops Cats

SYLVANIA - Tied at 1 at halftime, Northview scored on two penalty kicks early in the second half and pulled away for a 5-1 win in Northern Lakes League boys soccer Tuesday night.

Landon Speiser scored an unassisted goal for the Wildcats, while Michael Gallagher made three saves.

Napoleon (4-9-2) travels to Archbold Thursday.

Archbold sweeps

BRYAN — Archbold finished its regular season with a 25-17, 25-8, 25-8 sweep of Bryan in Tuesday's Northwest Ohio Athletic League volleyball match.

The Lady Streaks, who improved to 19-3 overall, were led by Keely Culler's 13 kills and three aces.

Chaney Brodbeck paced Archbold's serve with eight aces and Ella Bowman had 11 kills. Carsyn Hagans chipped in seven kills and Addi Ziegler had a team-high 38 assists.

Wauseon stumps PH

WAUSEON — Patrick Henry's volleyball team was even with Wauseon through two sets before losing 25-14, 18-25, 25-18, 25-9 Tuesday in Northwest Ohio Athletic League play.

Kelsey Smith's 10 kills and three blocks were both team highs for the Lady Patriots. Chloe Baird led the defense with 16 digs and Whitney Johnson had 22 assists.

PH hosts North Baltimore at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in its last regular season game of the year.
