Anne L. Petersen

Anne L. Petersen, 81, of Hamler, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family and best friend.

She was born July 31, 1939, in McClure, Ohio, to the late Paul and T. Irene (Love) Rowland. She was confirmed in the Baptist faith at Bethany Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Ohio. On Nov. 29, 1974, she married Burdell “Pete” Petersen in Wauseon, Ohio.

Anne worked at Campbell Soup Supply Co. for over 35 years. She was a hard-working woman who loved spending time riding horses, caring for her animals and working in the garden. She was an avid bowler in several leagues and enjoyed golfing. She loved to travel and visited the lower 48 and part of Canada with her husband on their Goldwing motorcycle with other members of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.

She is survived by husband, Pete; children, Debra Villarreal, Randy Shank, Tamey (Richard) Amos, Cathy Walters, Brenda (Jim) Ruder, Rick (Tammy) Shank; stepdaughter, Brenda (James) Maurer; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Susan Worley.

She was also preceded in death by sons-in-law, Lupe Villarreal and Dennis Walters; grandchildren, Justin Shank and Amy Shank; and a brother, Ronald Rowland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16 at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Hockman Cemetery, McClure, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2–8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Henry County Humane Society and Hospice of Putnam County.
