Charles “Chuck” E. Bowers

Charles “Chuck” Edward Bowers, 81, of Liberty Center, Ohio, passed away in his residence Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was born in Colton, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Lillian Bowers.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ferrel Bowers; children, Charleen (Bob) Morrison, Bradley (Lori) Bowers; grandchildren, Valarie (Dennis) Shelt, Robert (Katie) Morrison, Ashley (David) Fought, Cassandra (Brandon) Gelow, Brent (Amanda) Bowers; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Ty, Alania and Bryce.

Chuck graduated from Liberty Center High School. He worked as mechanic for Ford Motor Co., State of Ohio as Ohio Youth Commission and farmed from 1958-96. In 1990, Chuck and his wife, Ferrel opened their own carriage business. Chuck was a member of Napoleon Masonic Lodge #256, Haly Chapter Royal Arch Masons and Zenobia Shrine. Chuck’s biggest goal was to have all six of his horses on display at the Fulton County Fair, which he accomplished this in 2015.

Chuck was a special light in the world and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to one amazing man. Because of you, Josh Bethel, our loved one, “husband, dad, grandpa, great gramps,” had a peaceful journey home. For that we are all so very grateful and thankful! Thank you, The Bowers Family.

Visitation will be held at Liberty Center United Methodist Church, 307 East St., Liberty Center, Ohio, Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, from 2-8 p.m. Masonic Services will be held at 7:30 p.m., also Aug. 8, 2019. The funeral ceremony will be held Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at 10 a.m., also at Liberty Center United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Ohio.

Per the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
