Walter C. Rosebrock

Walter C. Rosebrock, 92, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at the Henry County Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Freedom Township to the late Carl F. and Mary (Gerken) Rosebrock. On Nov. 24, 1957, he married Lois Hoops at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, Ohio.
Walter was a lifelong farmer and drove truck part-time for Saneholtz Co. He was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, where he served on the Finance committee, as a church Trustee, and member of the St. John Lutheran Freedom Township School Board. He also served as a Freedom Township Trustee.
Walter served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a life member of the Ridgeville Corners American Legion and Napoleon V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Teresa Ward, Donna Jean (Louis) Hernandez and Alan Rosebrock; grandchildren, Samantha and Max Hernandez; step grandchildren, Eric and Casey Ward; siblings, Arnold (Mary) Rosebrock and Marilyn (Bob) Hershberger.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Sue; siblings, Hildegarde Maassel, Eldor Rosebrock, Laura Rosebrock and Lester Rosebrock; and a son-in-law, Royal Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. Interment will follow at the church cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:30–7:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall and Thursday from 10–11 a.m. in the church Narthex.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township.
