Thomas Joseph Gustwiller, 73, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023.
He was born in Napoleon on Dec. 31, 1949, to Alfred and Flossie (Shepard) Gustwiller. On April 15, 1972, Tom married Bonnie Long at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Tom proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He enjoyed sitting on the porch and tinkering with projects in the barn. Tom was a fun-loving guy and quite the jokester. He also enjoyed watching football, car races and wrestling.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bonnie; children, Michelle (Garry) Travelstead, Chevelle (Steve) Rex and Dawn (Ken) Liddle; grandchildren, Sierra (Andrew) Roth, Baylee (Braden Miller) Rex, Hannah (Tyler) Balula, Tanner Travelstead, Haley (Brendon Kesler) Decker, Carter Travelstead, Zach Rex; great-grandchildren, Luca Gustwiller, Tatum Roth, Kaidynce Owens, Kyleigh Balula, Bentley Balula and Tinsley Balula on the way. Also surviving are brothers, Larry (JoAnne) Gustwiller and Daniel (Barb) Gustwiller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Hertzfeld; and brother, Ron Gustwiller.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment with military honors will follow in Hockman Cemetery.
