Larry J. Knepley

Larry James Knepley, 88, of McClure passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at his home.

He was born on July 9, 1932, to the late Walter and Helen (Von Deylen) Knepley. On Nov. 6, 1954, he married the love of his life, Patricia Buckmaster, who preceded him in death in 2013.

Larry proudly served his county in the United States Army for four years and then continued his service for six more years in the National Guard. He worked at Dunbar Mechanical for many years and was a member of the Local Union #500 of Toledo. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. The one thing he cherished the most was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry will be remembered for his kind and giving heart and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his children, Mary Keedy of Napoleon, Larry (Cindy) Knepley II of Holgate, Teresa (Douglas) Barchick of Waterville, Michael Knepley of McClure and Joseph (Amy) Knepley of Swanton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 58 years, Patricia, brother, sister and son-in-law, Bill Keedy. He is most recently preceded in death by his son, David Knepley.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at Grelton Cemetery at 11 a.m. Pastor Peter Marcis will be officiating. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required for attendance, and social distancing is strongly encouraged.

Charity was important to Larry and he held many dear to his heart; memorials in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Walker-Hoening Mortuary of Napoleon.
