TOLEDO - The Liberty Center girls soccer team ran its record to 11-3 on the season Thursday with a 9-1 victory over Bowsher.
Samantha Engler was first on the board for the Lady Tigers 12 minutes in, scoring on an assist from Mallory Vollmar. Engler followed up eight minutes later, with an assist from Cassidy Chapa.
Lydia Ball hammered one home for the Lady Tigers at the 10:57 mark, using an assist from Alyssa Giesige. Chapa got one for herself, on an assist from Engler, at the six-minute mark, then followed with her second goal of the night a few minutes later after another assist from Vollmar.
The final goal of the first half was scored by Taylor Jenkins, with an assist from Maddie Reckner.
The second-half scoring opened about 12 minutes in on a goal by Taryn Hollenbaugh, with another Chapa assist. Engler got another goal at the 27-minute mark after a beautiful pass from Chapa. Taryn Hollenbaugh closed out the scoring on a pass from Emma Reckner.
Liberty Center's defense was stout all night, the line of Vollmar, Jillian Hoffman, Peyton Armey and Kylie Kern proving tough to pass. Only three shots were taken on goal all night, and the rotation of Riley Miller, Morgan Garber, Mariah Bostleman and Libby Crawford repelled all of the shots except for a penalty kick.
The Lady Tigers host Crestview today at 5 p.m.
