HOLGATE — Abe Kelly scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, helping to lift the Tigers to a 48-43 win over Edgerton Friday night in the Tiger Cage.
Kelly sank two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and added another in the extra period for Holgate’s only field goal in overtime. The Tigers were 6 of 8 from the foul line in OT.
Edgerton led 14-4 after the opening period, but Holgate held the Bulldogs to 3 points in the third quarter to tie the game at 24.
Xavier McCord also scored 14 points for the Tigers.
Edgerton (8-14) was paced by Corey Everetts with 19 points, while Cory Herman added 17 points.
Holgate (4-18) takes on Ayersville in the first round of the Division IV tournament Wednesday at Liberty Center.
LIBERTY CENTER — The Tigers outscored Delta 18-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 47-39 Northwest Ohio Athletic League win Friday night in The Jungle.
Gavin Geahlen scored 8 of his 10 points in the final period to lead Liberty Center’s surge over the final eight minutes. Colton Chambers and Landon Bockleman each added nine points for the Tigers, while Riley Chapa tallied eight and Landon Kruse chipped in with seven points.
Delta (17-5, 3-4 in the NWOAL) was led by Bryce Gillen with 14 points, including four 3-pointers in the first half. Nolan Risner added 13 — 11 in the second half.
Liberty Center (14-8, 4-3 in the NWOAL) faces Hicksville in the opening round of the Division III tournament at Wauseon Tuesday.
