DEFIANCE — In a very competitive Division II district track and field meet, Cait Good was the only Napoleon athlete to get their ticket punched for next week’s regional meet.

Good placed fourth in the girls discus Wednesday at Defiance High School, throwing 119-9 to advance. Wauseon’s Marie Hutchinson placed fifth (118-5) and Sydney Zirkle was seventh (112-1) in the discus.

The top four finishers in each event advances to the Division II regional meet at Lexington High School next week.

Napoleon’s Kaelynn Glanz advanced to Friday’s district finals in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Glanz qualified second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.27 and fifth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.76.

Glanz was also a member of the Lady Cats’ 4x200 relay team, which also included Abby Naas, Macee Dilbone and Kaylee Nagel. The 4x200 team qualified seventh in a time of 1:53.8.

Also qualifying for the finals for the Lady Cats was Makena Dietrich, third in the 800 (2:32.55).

The Lady Cats 4x800 team of Dilbone, Maddie Lloyd, Caely Ressler and Dietrich finished seventh in a time of 10:35.53.

Wauseon’s 4x800 relay team of Serena Matthews, Samantha Aeschliman, Maggie Duden and Hannah Richer placed fourth in a time of 10:16.13 and qualified for the the regional meet.

Aeschliman also advanced to the finals in the 800 with a qualifying-best time of 2:29.76. Paige Allison Smith moved on to the finals in the 100 (fifth, 13.13) and 200 (third, 27.13).

In the boys meet, Wauseon’s Xavier Torres qualified for the regional meet with a second-place finish in the long jump (21-8 1/4). His teammate Jonas Tester just missed qualifying, placing fifth (20-10).

In other finals, Napoleon’s 4x800 team of Daniel Gaffney, Ryan Oberhaus, Ryan Otto and Josh Gerken placed seventh (8:59.31), while Wauseon’s 4x800 relay team of Braden Vernot, Michael Cheezan, Hunter Wasnich and Layton Willson was eighth (9:02.97) and the Indians’ Gregory Moore was sixth in the pole vault (12-6).

In semifinal qualifying, Napoleon’s Ed Bump advanced in the 200 (seventh, 23.63) and 400 (second, 51.65). He just missed qualifying in the 100, finishing ninth.

Other individual qualifiers for the Napoleon boys were Oberhaus, ninth in the 800 (2:11.40); Daniel Gaffney, fourth in the 800 (2:10.03), Josh Gaffney, eighth in the 300 hurdles (43.62).

The Cats’ 4x100 team of Michael Chipps, Autavian Fields, Alex Krass and Brandon Moll was seventh (45.73), while the 4x200 team of Fields, Josh Gaffney, Dylan Rittenhouse and Chasten Wilde was fifth (1:35.09). Napoleon’s 4x400 team of Josh Gaffney, Oberhaus, Moll and Bump was ninth and missed qualifying by one spot.

Archbold’s Trey Theobald advanced in three events, qualifying fourth in the 100 (11.5) and fifth in the 200 (23.22) and 400 (52.69). LJ Tijerina was fourth in the 100 (11.66), Caden Garrow was third in the 800 (2:08.8) and Tono Cruz was fifth in the 110 hurdles (16.26).

The Bluestreaks’ 4x200 relay team of Tijerina, Elijah Zimmerman, Tony Grime and Austin Roth was eighth in 1:37.03 and the 4x400 relay team of Grime, Zimmerman, Roth and Theobald was sixth in 3:37.24.

James Hutchinson qualified in the 110 hurdles (seventh, 16.48) and 300 hurdles (third, 42.21) and was on two qualifying relay teams.

The 4x200 team of Braden Hernandez, Noah Tester, Jonas Tester and Hutchinson was sixth (1:36.17), while the 4x400 relay team of Cheezan, Hutchinson, Noah Tester and Jonas Tester was seventh (3:37.33).

Also qualifying for the finals was Willson, who was 11th in the 800 (2:12.06).

Results of the girls high jump and boys shot put were not reported.

The Division II district meet concludes Friday at Defiance High School, with the remaining field events beginning at 4 p.m. and the running finals starting at 5:45.
