The Liberty Center bowling teams enacted a bit of revenge against rival Patrick Henry Monday at River City Bowl-A-Way, with the girls beating the Lady Patriots 2022-1843 and the boys winning 2312-2139.
Patrick Henry swept the first meeting of this year’s edition of the rivalry, with the boys winning 2272-2161 and the girls winning 1871-1822 Dec. 6.
In girls action, Olivia Weirauch shot a 221 in game one to pace a 413 series, leading the Lady Tigers, while Madison Amstutz chipped in a 320 and Hannah Feather a 312. Kaycee Cover (167), Gwyn Murrey (125), Audrey Bowers (124) and Arianna Smith (111) each contributed one-game scores in the win.
Patrick Henry was led by Sarah Breece’s 322 set, while Starr Anteau added a 309. Angeline Parsons contributed a 279 series, while Catherine Knapp (254) and Rachel Breece (225) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Patriots.
LC led 1572-1389 after match play. The Lady Tigers took Baker games one and two 159-131 and 185-146, respectively, before PH responded with a 179-106 win in game three.
In boys action, Joshua Sexton and Nathan Weirauch each shot a 407 series, with Weirauch rolling a match-high game of 224 in game two and Sexton turning in scores of 205 and 202.
Jonathon Smith added a 311 series, while John Spangler (298) and Haydon Guyer (287) rounded out the Tigers’ scoring.
Jaylin Drew led the Patriots with a 343 series, while Cade DeLong turned in a 336 set. Tyler Piercefield rolled a 328 series, while Aidan Breece (326) and Kijano Hill (245) rounded out the PH scoring.
Liberty Center led 1716-1578 after match play, but the Patriots squeezed out a 190-189 win in Baker game one to pull the smallest of margins closer.
The Tigers won Baker game two 213-182 before Patrick Henry won Baker game three 194-179.
Patrick Henry hosts Bryan Friday at Deshler Lanes, while Liberty Center takes on Wauseon for a road match Friday at River City Bowl-A-Way.
