FINDLAY — Patrick Henry scored 10 points in the first half and never caught up, falling to Liberty-Benton 51-30 Saturday night in high school boys basketball action.

Ben Spiess led the Eagles with 13 points.

Patrick Henry was paced by Gavin Jackson with 11 points, while Clayton Feehan added 9. Will Seedorf led the Patriots with seven rebounds.

Patrick Henry won the battle of the boards (25-18), but had more turnovers (20-11). The Patriots were 8 of 30 from the field, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range. PH was also 12 of 19 from the foul line.

The Patriots are now 2-19 on the season. They host Liberty Center Friday in the season finale.

Wauseon 50,

Pettisville 45

PETTISVILLE — Wauseon held off a fourth-quarter rally by the Blackbirds for a 50-45 victory Saturday night.

Jonas Tester led the Indians with 23 points, while Noah Tester added 13 and Connar Penrod tallied 9.

Graeme Jacoby paced Pettisville with 25 points. Jacoby also reached 1,000 points in his career, making him the ninth player to reach the milestone for the Blackbirds.

Mitchell Avina added 11 for Pettisville, which is now 14-7 on the season.

Wauseon improved to 15-6 overall. The Indians host Delta to end the regular season Friday.

Ayersville 48,

Montpelier 45

AYERSVILLE — Montpelier hung in with Ayersville all night, but fell just short, falling 48-45 to the Pilots in overtime Saturday night.

Tylor Yahraus led Montpelier with 20 points after sinking all three of the Locomotives’ 3-pointers. Blake Altaffer finished with seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Alex McCord added six points, while Austin Peffley and Rowen Beck scored four points apiece. Garrett Walz and Gavin Stratton had two points each.

Jakob Trevino paced Ayersville with 16 points. Brayden Amoroso added 13 points and Trevor Okuley picked up a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Ayersville moves to 9-12 overall, 1-6 in the GMC. The Pilots travel to face Liberty Center (10-10, 2-4 Northwest Ohio Athletic League) tonight.
