WORTHINGTON, Ohio — Napoleon split with Thomas Worthington in a pair of water polo matches Wednesday.
The Lady Cats defeated Thomas Worthington 10-8 in the nightcap of the boy-girl doubleheader.
Hope Buchhop scored four goals and added an assist to lead Napoleon, which jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the Lady Cats scored four-straight goals to start the second quarter.
Worthington cut the lead to 6-3 at half, but Napoleon maintained at least a two-goal lead throughout the rest of the second half.
Elle Koesters scored twice during the second period. Nastya Konstantinova and Kalista Zapata added a pair of goals each.
Claire Durham led the defense with three steals. Konstantinova had two steals and two assists. Miya Weber finished with seven blocks in goal.
The Lady Cats are now 6-2 on the season. They travel to Upper Arlington for three games Saturday.
In the first game, Thomas Worthington pulled away in the second half for a 7-4 win over Napoleon in the boys match.
The game was tied at 2 at half.
Alex Gyde, Spencer Cashman, Micah Spring and Rudy Dua had a goal each, while Andrew Scherer had two assists and two steals.
Gyde led the defense with three steals. Dua, Cashman, Spring and Mitchell Griffith also had two steals apiece. In goal, Gyde made four blocks, while Dua made three.
Napoleon (5-6) hosts the Courtney Fisher Classic this weekend with 28 games on the schedule and nine teams competing over three days.
