Patrick Henry senior nose guard TJ Rhamy was named co-Defensive Player of the Year in Division VII by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, giving the state-semifinalist Patriots two honorees on first-team all-Ohio.
Rhamy was a first team defensive all-Ohio selection in 2018 as a junior. Rhamy shared Defensive Player of the Year honors with Marion Local’s Matt Everman and Fort Loramie’s Max Hoying.
Senior offensive lineman Garrett Schwiebert joined Rhamy with a first-team offense nod, while Rhamy was first-team defense. Senior receiver Kolton Holloway was recognized as second team all-Ohio, while senior running back Will Morrow was named third team all-Ohio.
Edgerton’s Hunter Prince was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Willow Wood-Symmes Valley’s Michael Cook and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Ryan Williams were named Coach of the Year.
In Division VI, Liberty Center senior running back Zach Bowers was named second team all-Ohio on offense alongside senior tight end Trent Murdock. Connor Keller was named second team all-Ohio for his efforts as a defensive back.
Archbold senior Matthew Gladieux was named first team all-Ohio as an offensive lineman, while Carson Meyer (linebacker) and Elijah Zimmerman (defensive back) were both named second team all-Ohio for defense. Senior receiver Antonio Cruz was named special mention.
Howard-East Knox’s Caleb Gallwitz, Collins-Western Reserve’s Cody Benesh, Chillicothe Southeastern’s Lane Ruby and Anna’s Riley Huelskamp were each named co-Offensive Player of the Year.
Glouster-Trimble’s Sawyer Koons was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Collins-Western Reserve’s Ty Stevenson was named Coach of the Year.
